Happy New Year and Eagle season everyone. Hoping for another great season with Liberty and Freedom Thanks to Comcast, the Pennsylvania Game Commission and HDonTap for providing the cams and updates.

Confusing events: No nestbuilding efforts of resident pair, but more appearences of intruding eagles: Freedoms successor Spot & Liberty 2?...

By David PackardA FEW WORDS OF CAUTION FOR EVERYONE:
With the current situation at the nest if watching the cameras or viewing the photos/videos on this page is upsetting to you it may be a good idea to step away for awhile because it is likely to get more difficult to watch! If Duchess doesn't get some help from the male with the incubation of the eggs and is forced to abandon her nest the eggs will be left for scavengers such as crows, etc. If by some chance the eggs make it to hatch and Duchess still does not receive help from Duke the outcome will be even less pleasant!
This is nature in the raw, the good, the bad and the ugly, no "sugar coating" to it.
Also for those that are calling Duke "a deadbeat dad" or all the other things I have seen the past few days he is none of those things! He is a young, inexperienced male eagle trying to establish himself with a mate and new territory! For some reason his hormones have not kicked in yet to tell him that he is supposed to help with the incubation of these eggs. At the same time he is trying to fight off the "intruder male" that is trying to take his "kingdom" away from him!
