September 25
Good morning, everybody!
Happy Sunday!
1:36 am Fiona is back on the left branch briefly Bensweather.com Forecast Updated: Sunday, Sep 25 @ 01:03am
Low pressure sitting over the northern Gulf of California has drawn some upper-level moisture into the region with sufficient daytime heating to trigger elevated convection. We had a few isolated storms fire up around the area yesterday, mainly near Onyx Summit eastward over the high desert. Expect a similar setup for today with a northerly flow around the low drawing storms southward. Temperatures will run about 5 degrees above average today as highs reach the mid to upper 70's, winds mostly light & variable to 10mph. Some storms could contain brief heavy downpours with gusty winds, lightning, and small hail. Always head indoors if a thunderstorm approaches your area. High pressure will strengthen early this week pushing daytime temperatures up near 80 degrees Monday and Tuesday with drier conditions expected. Overnight lows will remain fairly mild, cooling to the 40's. A trough will approach the west coast later in the week leading to a gradual cool-down with highs back in the 60's for the weekend. Low pressure off the west coast could also draw in additional subtropical moisture later in the week and will be monitored for possible afternoon convection.
