Bensweather.com Forecast Updated:
Expect variable high cloudiness Thursday with slightly warmer temps as highs reach the mid-60's, easterly winds around 5-10mph. We'll transition back to an onshore flow Friday bringing temps down a few degrees, still nice with highs in the lower 60's, southwest winds 5-15mph during the afternoon. The onshore flow will crank up over the weekend as a powerful storm over northern California slowly sags south. We'll keep the forecast dry for the weekend with highs in the 50's and lows in the upper 20's and 30's. After this storm drenches northern and central California, it will start to weaken and drop southward with clouds and winds on the increase later Sunday. This system is tapping into warmer moisture off the Pacific with showers expected to develop Sunday night continuing through Monday. Due to the subtropical influence, the snow level will remain above 9,000 feet through the duration of this storm with only a few flakes possible towards the tail end of the system, unlikely anything significant. Showers should taper off Tuesday as low-pressure exits the area with warmer, drier weather returning by midweek. Rainfall amounts of around a half inch or more will be welcomed after a very dry season last year where colder storms brought above normal snowfall, but little in the way of rain for us.
