*** FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH 10:00 PM ***
A pretty active day out there yesterday with showers and thunderstorms firing up all around the area. A few locations received in the 1-2" range, looking at similar conditions set up for today with isolated flash flooding possible. Expect mostly cloudy skies out there today with scattered showers and thunderstorms later this morning, continuing into the afternoon. A little cooler with highs in the mid 70's, southeast winds 10-15 mph, gusty near storms. Some storms may contain torrential rainfall, strong winds, frequent lightning, and hail, see shelter indoors if a thunderstorm approaches. Activity should wind down around sunset for clearing skies under a gorgeous full moon with lows in the 50's. The flow will turn a little more southerly tomorrow bringing a decrease in moisture. This should generate less widespread convection during the afternoon with just a few isolated storms possible, highs in the upper 70's. The flow turns easterly again Thursday and Friday bringing in another decent surge of moisture with showers & storms increasing in coverage and intensity, decreasing through the weekend. We'll keep temperatures a little below average through the weekend with highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's. A deeper trough may push into the west coast temporarily cutting off the monsoon flow across the area, of course this remains to be seen as we remain locked into a pretty good monsoon pattern.

Bensweather.com Forecast Updated: Wednesday, Aug 10 @ 01:32am
The flow will turn towards the south-southwest today bringing a minor decrease in moisture & instability. This should generate less convection during the afternoon with just an isolated shower or storm possible, highs in the upper 70's, little change for tomorrow. Moisture will increase again Friday as high pressure drops back into the Four Corners. This will set up a pretty strong easterly flow at the mid-levels accompanied by another tropical wave with showers & storms increasing in coverage and intensity into the weekend, lingering through early next week. Some overnight thunderstorm activity will also be possible this weekend. This will bring temperatures back down a bit with highs in the mid 70's while lows drop into the 50's. We'll remain wedged between high pressure to the east and a weak trough off the west coast next week, this could eventually lead to a drier southwest flow, pushing monsoon moisture east of us by the end of the week.
