1:29 pm checking in earlier. One of the Valors brings in some food and after prep, some eating occurred. Then Starr moves out to the long branch. Can see all three eaglets in the nest with Valor 2.

1:35 pm one of the eaglets looks to be sitting on the railing and does a winger. The others in the nest seem to be eating.

6:55 pm the eaglets had been napping as didn't see them and then they all three popped up. Then they laid down again.

Good evening, Sandy, Philippe, & fellow Trio watchers! Thank you, Sandy, for posting Dennis' pictures yesterday. I ended up sleeping most of the day, fighting off something, so didn't get much done. Thanks, again!
Here are a few more pics from Dennis Becht's visit to the nest on May 2nd. He cropped them down, so we can more easily see the growth of the eaglets, especially the feather growth. Looks like one of the eaglets is working on self-feeding, too! (photos used with permission)

It's a great event to get outside and enjoy nature. I find it very exciting no matter how many times I see bald eagles.

And here is a food delivery by Valor 2, with Valor 1 on the nest. This is also from Dennis Becht's May 2 visit to the nest area. (photos used with permission)

8:02 am the eaglets were up and active. Then it looks like they laid down for a nap. An adult is on the long branch. Amazing as the eaglets are now six weeks old. :rh:

I was able to record a little today. Below is a summary of what I see in my recordings.
12:39 pm: Both Valors together on the nest with the eaglets. Looks like they are both standing guard, watching over their territory & keeping an eye on the eaglets. Wonder if there was an intruder nearby before I checked in.
2021-05-05 (116).png
12:53 pm: Wow! The Valors start alerting. First V1 leaves the nest with determination, quickly followed by V2. I think they must have flown around the front of the nest, because I saw part of a wing briefly on the left.

The eaglets are up. They move around, one wingercises, they lay down & get up again.

2021-05-05 (131).png
1:38 pm: Mom Starr arrives on a branch. After staying there a couple of minutes, she moves to the nest. She gets right to work cleaning the nest. She stops at times to check out the Trio's territory.

2:46 pm: Caught an eaglet giving Mom a kiss.
2021-05-05 (139).png
A few seconds later, one of the Valors, I think V1, arrives at the nest. I can't tell if he brought food, but he didn't stay long, so I think he did.
2021-05-05 (140).png
2:47 pm: V2 leaves.
2021-05-05 (145).png
A feeding started soon afterwards. The eaglets seemed to have lined up, but keeps moving closer behind Starr, so I couldn't see what was going on.

3:06 pm: Meal is over & Starr starts guarding over her area.
2021-05-05 (149).png
3:09 pm: Starr moved out to the long branch & starts alerting. After
several seconds, she quiets down & keeps guarding the nest from the branch.
2021-05-05 (155).png
3:47 am: One of the Valors, I think V2, arrives with a fish & starts feeding the eaglets.

3:48 pm: Starr leaves.
2021-05-05 (158).png
4:01 am: Feeding is over. V2 moves across the nest to spend time with the eaglet & to guard the area.
2021-05-05 (160).png
2021-05-05 (161).png
4:02 pm: An eagle flew by (behind the limbs in this pic). Must have been one of the Trio, because V2 did not alert. It came from the side of the nest & flew around the back.
2021-05-05 (162)_LI.jpg
4:31 pm: My recording ended. V2 was still on the nest with the eaglets & all was quiet during that time.

Hope everyone has a good night!

3:23 pm checking in late this afternoon. One of the eaglets was doing little hops and wingers. Then couldn't see any of them as they must have laid down for an afternoon nap.
