Our big story remains the major heat wave in store for us with record heat likely, bringing some the of warmest temperatures we've hit in quite a few years where an excessive heat watch is in effect. Expect mostly sunny skies today with continued warming as our high tops out around 80-degrees this afternoon, easterly winds around 5-10mph at times. Temperatures will increase up a few degrees each day reaching 90-degrees by the middle of next week. Overnight temps will also remain unseasonably warm as lows drop into the 50's. Winds will remain light offshore with well above-average temperatures forecast through the end of the week. A minor amount of subtropical moisture could also creep into the picture through next week, which could bring up the humidity enough to drive up the heat index, not enough for any afternoon convection. The strong ridge will slowly start to weak next weekend which will lead to a very gradual cooling trend as our weather remains hot and dry.
