Another very active day on Saturday thunderstorms dropping 1-2 inches of rain across a few locations with several trees in the area struck by lightning (snag).

A drier southwest flow is already shifting the monsoon flow east of the area with only an isolated shower or thunderstorm possible on Sunday, if that. Expect clear skies overnight with light winds as lows cool to the 40's. Partly cloudy and warmer Sunday with a high near 80°, southwest winds 5-15mph during the afternoon. As humidity levels decrease next week temperatures will increase with highs reaching the mid-80's by Wednesday, while overnight lows generally cool to the 50's. For the time being it looks like monsoon moisture will remain east of us for the better part of the week, but could return next weekend. The average rainfall for July is 0.74", some areas received well over 3 inches, a great start to our monsoon season. Average rainfall for August is 1.04", let's hope for another wet month!
