5:36 am Bensweather.com Forecast Updated:
An easterly wave tracking westward across Arizona will slowly move into our area later Sunday into Monday, possibly bringing more widespread showers and thunderstorms across much of Southern California. An abundance of cloud cover could limit afternoon convection, but with an upper-level low in play, storms could fire off at any time, just about anywhere. Mostly cloudy skies. Mostly cloudy skies overnight with a few showers or sprinkles possible, light winds with lows in the 50's. Partly to mostly cloudy skies on Sunday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible, cooler with highs in the 70's. We'll have our best shot and showers and storms Sunday night into Monday as this disturbance passes through the region. Any thunderstorms that do fire up will be capable of heavy rain, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and small hail. This wave will pass west of us by Tuesday bringing a return to the more traditional diurnally driven thundershowers. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms will remain possible all week as temperatures remain near average. Another surge of moisture could bring an increasing chance for showers and storms by next weekend.

*** FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH 8:00 PM TONIGHT ***
An upper-level low drawing in a copious amount of subtropical moisture will move westward through the area today bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms today, locally strong to severe. Expect mostly cloudy skies overnight with showers and thunderstorms likely, locally heavy rain is possible with lows in the 50's. Some storms could produce flash flooding rains, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and hail with upwards of 1/2" to 2" of rain possible in some areas. Partly to mostly cloudy today with thundershowers continuing at times, cooler with a high near 70°. This disturbance will pass west of us by tomorrow bringing a slightly drier and more stable environment with just a few afternoon thunderstorms possible. Warmer through midweek with highs in the upper 70's to around 80-degrees, while overnight lows drop into upper 40's and 50's. We'll keep a chance of isolated afternoon thundershowers in the forecast all week, increasing again towards the weekend as we experience another influx of moisture.

Bensweather.com Forecast Updated:
Lingering mid and upper-level moisture could spark a few showers or an isolated thunderstorm on Tuesday, but our chances will decrease through midweek as the monsoon flow shifts east, at least temporarily. Daytime highs will climb back up near 80-degrees, while overnight lows drop into the 40's and 50's. The flow will gradually shift southeastward by the end of the week bringing an increasing chance for afternoon showers and storms returning, with the greatest threat on Friday and Saturday. Things will dry out again by early next week as temperatures stay close to average.
