I edited this as so many mistakes. sorry
Young adult was here today a few times but towards evening, the young adult went to nest and left,.
Female came in with a bit of leftovers. A youngster landed on a far left branch. one mod said young eagle also, . I have pictures. Then another adult flew onto a lower branch and then to right side of nest.
I played back my video a few times and noticed that th e right foot was swollen, at that point. It chased youngster off, and female continued to eat her prey item.adult male flew off, and shortly after came back. Now the foot was really obvious. I believe this to be mossman.
I was wondering where he was. I do not think injury is from a fight. I think he caught it in something . I have seen this kind of injury with our falcons, when the foot caught on something, causing ankle and foot to swell.
I think if given a chance and no other males come into play , he will be O.K., with rest.
He lay in nest and female perched on a right branch. Then he perched for a while on an outer branch, and then went to lay in nest again. This is good for him. At one point he flew off. I also played tape back and saw , what I believe to be an owl, come at nest, and adult male flew off beyond remote tree. ( I had my hubby watch a few times with me)
Heard trilling and female trilled . adult male flew back to nest and after a bit, lay down.
Later he flew off again and when he came back he landed on branch by female . They both worked in nest. Female went to her branch and as I shut down ,just after midnight, cam time, MOssman lay down to rest in nest bowl.
Hopefully tomorrow will be good day for him and this nest
female in an d arranges hay
sh e leaves, young male in
female back in , and young male flies to branch. So far, this time around, he has not been on nest with her

I found it so cool the way the female let the male sleep in th e nest Jan31 and all night Feb1. Feb 1 was overly windy at the nest. they both had trouble staying on when upright
F
female
th e male was in and out all day. the wind blew him off backwards and he flew in backwards at one point. Not good for his foot.
