The visitor got closer again with the other one scolding all the while.

Well I wonder if this eagle with the nose bling and the black on it's rail feasthers is a male or female???

There was a fight on the ground between 2 eagles at 1.52 PM (EC remote cam).
Nature can be harsh.

All is fine after.

Unfortunately one passed away . Survivor was at the nest with female. I will bring over my video.

please bear with water marks. I tested this last year and am in process of buying program. So sad , today. My heart is really hurting. I have rescued and picked up many a falcon, deceased and alive. I have th e pleasure of releasing so many back . I have young ones( 3 weeks) at home and juveniles , till biologist can pick up or I get them checked so we can put back at nest site. But it always hurts when we have to pick up one that is deceased.

Such is their life. may it soar free now

I have a video made by Deeagle. It does show the fight on the ground. so sad that one was killed. They had been fighting on several occasions.

One did not survive and was retrieved by FWC.We do NOT know the identity of the eagle that passed...
Why did all of the Crows show up?....
According to Swift, this behavior is a way for crows to observe whatever might have killed the dead bird and learn to avoid the same fate. Flocking into a large, noisy group provides them protection from the threat if it's still around...

I just caught a few scaps in late afternoon.

The female and I guess the winner if the eagle war for her and the territory.

Later they were both on the nest tree---she did a lot of squawking at him and they both took off.

I'm not so sure that the female cares for this male who is at the nest today. I'm not sure if he is he winner of the fight the other day or not. I do know that he has a very dirty head.

He is really carrying on and the female is warning him not to come near her food--she is almost out of the scap to the left

She had a fit when he came back to the nest--she let him know it and lunged at him and he left in a hurry

She finished up her fish and feaked her beak and went after an itch

Not too many looks at eagles here today. This first eagle in the morning is a stranger to me. It has a very dirty tail, a dirty head and a banged up foot.

This one I think is the female who has been here but not being able to see her tail I'm not sure. She was here later in the afternoon.

Early this morning there was an eagle on the nest. I believe it's the one I call dirty tail who is a male. He was joined by the big female who I call white spot. They didn't have a long visit but they worked on spreading around some fresh nest fluff.


These two scaps are the male who I guess won the big fight. I have named him Dirty Tail although he could be Messy Head too

this is certainly a work in progress. Female had a fish on nest this noon hour , an d the eagle we call mossman came in after her.
but it has been a test between young adult and mossman.
it was a complete seesaw yesterday after 5pm but I believe it was mossman, or dirty tail as you say, that was last man in and spent night in remote tree.

This morning White Spot came to the nest with a huge many branched "stick". She had a terrible time with it and never did solve the problem of what to do with it. I do have to admit that it was quite amusing to watch her deal with it

The stick was all wrapped around her--she was caught in a "V"

She perched on it and jumped up and down

She got it caught between her legs and pulled up---OUCH!

She jumped up and down on it and tried to crush it---nope!

lots of altercations yesterday on nest. young adult was there later afternoon and so was Skippy. mossman was in in the morning

Female was on nest form just after 3am jan28 till after 6am jan28. then sh e flew to remote tree whee she stayed til after 8am. two visits to nest this morning. one was young adult. I could Id th e other as he would not cooperate LOL

both mossman and female at nest starting at 5 am. moss man is who you refer to as dirty tail.
lots of nest building. Moss man brought in some fluff but female brought in lots of fluff and several trips of big sticks. As you have noted, she is a treat to watch with those sticks. they both worked very hard at nest

let us hop e this is the fresh start we are waiting for.
I will be back with a few photos later if no one else has any.

Both female and moss an returned to nest after5pm and did some nestorating. The female then flew to snag tree to right of remote tree. Male joined her there shortly after.

Will back in a bit to. Post a few photos so you know who is who. (I am homeschooling grandsons

so have to wait till evening)

mossman had brought in hay, and really worked on nest. He left and female came back with one of many big branches( she brought back about 5 branches and some hay)
