-- The nest view from cam #1--Both parents and the 3 2016 eggs
A pair of bald eagles who call an Avon Lake elementary school (about 20 miles from Cleveland) home can be seen 24/7 thanks to a live video feed.
The camera was installed at Redwood Elementary School and is now available to view through YouTube.
-- One of the many serious discussions had by Stars and Stripes--they seem to love bickering
This pair of eagles started nesting at the school in November of 2014 and were named Stars and Stripes by the students. In April of 2015 two eaglets, who were named Hope and Pride, hatched and eventually successfully fledged.
"The names of the eaglets were chosen because we hope that they will come back to nest, and we have great pride that the eagles chose Redwood Elementary School to build their nest," said principal T.J. Ebert
The adult eagles have become unofficial mascots of the school and teachers incorporate them into lessons and art projects.

A closer view of the nest
Enjoy it while it lasts" is the first lesson Principal T.J. Ebert emphasizes. Ebert acknowledges that the unlikely location of the nesting site, right above one of the school's playgrounds, might be temporary. "This is very rare, it just doesn't happen," he spoke with a tone of amazement.

Re: Avon Lake, Ohio ~~ 2020/21
Avon Lake is a city in Lorain County, Ohio on Lake Erie. The population was 22,581 at the 2010 census. Avon Lake was first settled in the 17th century and was, along with Avon, Bay Village, and Westlake, inhabited by Wyandots, Eries, Ottawas, etc. These people settled, traded, fought, made peace, and later moved elsewhere. Avon Lake, Avon, Bay Village, and Westlake were all one territory, Xeuma.

I have permission from several of the great folks who go to the Avon Lake nest to photograph the eagles to post some of their wonderful photos here on the forum. I hope you will enjoy seeing their photos of Stsrs and Stripes and their family throughout the season! I'm sending out a huge thanks to each and every one of them!!
Here are two that I liked from Peggy Urwin that were taken on Sweetest Day, Oct. 17th
