It moves to the other fish and does offer PT9 some bites but doesn't look like PT9 likes that fish

I'm convinced the male is Chandler, but I do wonder about his injuries. Instead of bringing food to nest, he's chowing down on what Hope has brought. He did give PT9 some bites (not that kiddo really needs more food) but spent most of the time -- like Monday -- filling his own crop. That makes me think he's injured enough to have difficulty fishing -- for himself and PT9. In contrast, when he showed up with bloody right eye and cuts on head last season (viewtopic.php?f=44&t=473&start=1395), he never missed a beat in bringing daily deliveries of fish and sticks.

Seems like strange behavior but I hope it is Chandler.

Chat moderators wanted to get a good look at male's cere to judge if Chandler's dents evident. Looks like his cere might be even more banged up, but I think these shots show cere & dents pretty well.

Lots of discussion going on about whether this Male is Chandler. There are things about this Male that indicate to me that it could be him but also there are traits that Chandler has that this Male is just not doing. The Male has definitely been in a battle. Could the fight have caused Chandler to deviate from his prior character? :chin:
No Mods on chat have confirmed yet that this is Chandler or if it is not so we wait and see what their decision will be

The previous shots also show a lot of deep cuts and dried blood on his talons. That wasn't as evident last year when he showed up with ghastly eye/head injuries. Hard to say whether worse eye injuries or worse talon injuries to Chandler -- or perhaps to an eagle other than Chandler -- explain differences in behavior. But I still believe this is Chandler doing his best to survive and somehow contribute to his kid's survival. There have been times when Hope was feeding PT9 that I saw shadows of birds circling all around the nest, and while Hope glanced up, she didn't alarm. So I think Chandler's injured from fending off intruders, and he's now starving from the energy expended on those efforts, but too injured or too exhausted to do much fishing. All complete speculation on my part -- only time will tell, but hoping for the best. Churn in mates at other nests in past few seasons has not led to success in many cases.

From what I read yesterday the Male did not come to the nest as the previous day but Hope also did not leave food on the nest from what I saw, which might have stopped the Male from coming. If this is Chandler I wouldn't think he would come to the nest whether there is food or not. Wait and see kinda thing

6.23Am Pt9 has spent the night at the nest alone. Hope is most likely perched above as we see a wing flutter at 6.16Am fly away

6.43Am Hope in with some wet nesting. Pt9 is not to happy it is not breakfast. Hope flies off again

8.24Am Pt9 alone. Hope has not been on the nest since she left
