I still worry about Chandler's injuries. Once again, he didn't show at nest until late in the day on Monday, when he scarfed down the small bit of fish left in nest as if he was starving. And even though nothing left but tail fins, Heather showed up and tried to take it from him, but Chandler resisted. When she tried to beak him, he grabbed tail and flew off the next rather than risk further injury for not giving into her demands. Totally uncharacteristic interaction -- they've both shown alpha-eagle characteristics, but Chandler usually accedes to Hope's wishes. Whether he's too injured to fish or spending too much time/energy fending off intruders to go fishing, I don't know. But I do know Chandler's infrequent appearances and seemingly starving scarfing down of nestovers are very unusual behaviors for him.

Observation:

Two seasons ago when Pt5 hatched I found it strange how much Pt5 was left alone at the nest with both Hope and Chandler around but this season tops it. Other than feedings Pt9 spends it day alone.
Hope is the primary and only one to bring food (other than the other day, that one fish) and feed Pt9. Chandler has been pretty much been non-existent.
I remember from Harrison Mills's nest a couple of seasons ago where Duffer got into a battle after the eggs were laid. Once he returned he never had the instinct to incubate the eggs leaving it all to Dimple. The eggs never hatched and was for the best.
Could Chandler's encounter with the intruder taken the instinct to help away as well? What really goes on in their minds after such an intense fight I guess we will never know
For now, Hope is doing a great job providing regardless that Pt9 spends most of its day alone. I expect Pt9 to be a copy of Pt5. A very feisty one when it gets older.
