Journi, thank you for the wonderful scaps! I have news, the eaglets have been given names!

GG4 is Ch'áak' - This means Bald Eagle in the native language of Tlingit. Pronounced Chok (chuh-awk) And GG5 is Anáaski - This means Alaska in the native language of Tlingit. Pronounced uh-naw-ski. I am in love with these beautiful Native names!

4:45pm - Mama has been brooding Ch'aak' (GG4) & Anaaski (GG5) for while now...
4:47pm - Mama gets up and Ch'aak' & Anaaski are getting some fresh air while Mama moves nesting materials around her.
I am not sure if there was a feeding during this time since Mama was in the way!
5:28pm - Ch'aak' & Anaaski are now on the other side of Mama as she continues to aerate around her.

9:35am - Papa brings a nice sized stick for the nest while Mama still broods Ch'aak' & Anaaski.
(Green dots show the length of this stick.)
9:36am - Papa moves the stick around while Mama moves some moss.

Shoupie thanks so much for posting the names for the eaglets. I like them
Journi thanks for asking about posting the weather report; it is a good idea and I'm sure will be appreciated

Also, thanks so much for posting your wonderful s'caps

I don't seem to have much time lately to watch the cam

The nice part about this nest being much later in the season is that I will have more time to watch after all of our local eagles have left the area

6:00pm - While Mama is covering Ch'aak' & Anaaski she does a great job rousing her feathers!
(Rouse = When an eagle raises all their feathers and shakes!)
After Mama's great rousing, one of the eaglets peeks out from under her wondering what she was doing!
(No, that wasn't an earthquake little one...it was just your mom rousing!)
Mama is busy with aerating the nest area around her while Ch'aak' & Anaaski remain under her.
Thank you Zoomie for the nice close-ups!

6:35pm - One of the eaglets under Mama is restless and vocals...
Well...now we can see why the eaglet was restless! The white PS (poop shot) flies across the nest to the left!
Mama watches just how far the PS went ... Clear across the nest to the left!
(The eaglet settled back down and continued to rest)

6:55pm - Mama leaves the nest...
6:58pm - One of the eaglets sits up high in the nest bowl looking for Mama.
(I did see a little bit of bonking going on so the one being bonked stayed down in the nest bowl)
6:59pm - Mama returns to the nest. I could not see if she brought back anything to the nest since she flew in with
her back to the cam.
.
Hi Marianne! Have a good night! ~Journi

9:38am - After the break-fast time, Mama gets Ch'aak' & Anaaski back under her to keep them warm & dry.
The current temp. at the nest is: 50 and no rain seen on radar.
(Mama looks like she's ready for a nice sun-spa day!)

2:35pm - Papa had been brooding Ch'aak' & Anaaski for some time now..
Now he gets up and uncovers a buried fish and begins to feed his eaglets...
2:36pm - Papa stops the feeding and vocals an alert...then goes back to the feeding.

2:36pm - Papa continues the fish feeding making sure both eaglets are fed.
There was some bonking... but Papa took care of that by offering the "bonker" some more food!
2:37pm - Papa again stops the feeding and vocals more alerts!

2:38pm - After Papa stopped his vocal alerts, he goes over to one of the eaglets and picks up a piece of food off from it's body.
Papa fed that piece of food to the eaglet, but it was a stringy piece of fish. (Looks like a piece of fish gut.)
Papa took a hold if that piece and helped the eaglet get it down.
The eaglet got the stringy piece of fish down okay...and Papa looked at his eaglet closely to make sure it was!

Both eaglets got fed and it was a peaceful feeding. (Peaceful because each were getting full!)

5:25pm - Papa is now "talking" and not alert vocalizing...
Ch'aak' & Anaaski are peeking out of the nest bowl a little now.
Papa checks his eaglets and then lays down over them.

5:25am - Mama slowly and carefully gets up from brooding Ch'aak' (4) & Anaaski (5)...
Mama uncovers a fish that was right next to the nest bowl edge...
(Ch'aak' (4) is the eaglet closest to Papa)
But wait!

...Mama goes over to the same spot and uncovers another (and slightly larger) fish!
(Red dots show the location of the 2 fish now.)

5:28am - Ch'aak' (4) takes the first bite of fish that Mama offers.
(Anaaski (5) stays down in the nest and seems to be waiting for the right time to get some fish...)
5:29am - Anaaski moves around a little and watches Ch'aak' eating...
5:35am - While Anaaski waits for the right time to get some fish, Papa arrives to the nest with some moss...
(or a small fish with moss around it.)

5:40am - Mama decides to leave the nest now that Papa has arrived to continue the fish feeding.
5:41am - Papa gets ready to feed Ch'aak' & Anaaski.
5:45am - Papa makes sure that each of his eaglets gets fed this morning.
Anaaski (5) makes some bold moves to get some fish now!
Seems like Ch'aak' has had enough fish for now and is now allowing Anaaski to eat!

8:44am - As Ch'aak' & Anaaski start getting restless under her, Mama finally decides to slowly get up...
After Mama moves away from her eaglets, she proceeds to do a one foot yoga pose and then stretches out her right wing!
8:50am - Mama then leaves the nest and the eaglets move around a little...with a little bonking going on.
(Mama returned to the nest about 4 minutes later.)
