Good morning Ferenz and Bee.

9:01 am There was just an awesome landing by E2. Parent landed on the upper branch. E2 flew by from left to right, circled and came in between the branches on the right. Landed on the nest.

Good morning Ferenz, Bee, and all MN-DNR eagle viewers. Time has come for me to say goodbye. I really didn't plan to document the nest this year. The beautiful pics that Ferenz posted drew me in. Then learning that the Dad was a new Dad this year just couldn't help but keep checking. We all know new Dad's do not always work out the first time. This Dad turned out to be truly amazing! He incubated the eggs. Brooded them after hatching. Don't think I'll ever forget the day I watched him watching Mom intently as she was feeding the new hatchlings. He had it from then on. In all honesty I think he did better at feeding than Mom did. Dad pretty much always made sure both were fed. Many times E2 missed out when Mom was feeding. Even though both E1 and E2 flubbed up the fledge they did well. At least I hope so with E1. Maybe, just maybe E1 will find it's way back to the nest. Time will tell. E2 is doing great. Flying around now and learning how to do eagle things. Even getting a bit spoiled by the parents and being fed now and then. It's been a good season at the nest. Even with some pretty bad storms, and high wind. Wish nothing but the best for them.

We've all had a heck of a year with the Covid-19 Pandemic. Now that restrictions are lifting it's time to get out and enjoy nature for ourselves. Take care everyone and be safe. :bye 1:

Hi Rita :bye 1:
Like you, I started following this nest because I saw this very young eagle about to become a dad for the first time and just couldn't pass the opportunity to watch something so rare :) . And you are right, he is just a fab Dad :D . I loved watching him eating on the nest, and many times I thought that last time when he was on a nest he was the one being fed by the parents
I am glad this nest worked out well, so now you can enjoy the summer and all your plans with a happy feeling . I really enjoyed your posts and pictures :thumlft: , and it was really great to follow this nest with you.
Have a great summer and enjoy everything you do :huggie:
