You can't really tell from the scap except that the background is gray but it's snowing and sleeting quite hard at the nest in the Dallas area!!

The cam is really bouncing around today in wind gusts up to 40 mph! It's hard to get scaps or even to look at the cam.
About 3 to 5 days until we see the egg maybe do something

A very wet Mom is sitting on the egg in a pretty heavy, steady rain. We are all still waiting for that baby although there is a pip and we can hear noises from the chick!

Poor little JBS14! He/she never had a chance at life.
I feel it necessary to document this tiny life because it mattered. This season here started out on such a bright note with a new camera and an egg and hopeful parents. Nature can just be cruel at times. Fly high and free little JBS14

I'm not sure if this was anything of concern on 14's side but thought I would put it here anyway---perhaps an injury??

Dad took care of JBS14 right away!
We have a wet--sad looking parent on the nest
..
There is always the possibility of a second clutch. I guess we will just have to stay tuned to this pair for a while.

**Connection to the Eagle Tower Camera has been lost due to extreme winter weather. A new live stream will be posted once we are able to get connection to the camera system.**
JBS14 Eaglet passed away due to unknown causes on Saturday, January 23rd. We are saddened by this unfortunate turn of events. The camera will stay live as we look for signs of the adults returning for a second clutch.
Chat will be suspended until further notice.
