Good morning, Sue, Philippe, Catspairadice, and all Trio watchers.

7:26 am Starr flew into the nest. She vocalized a bit and then she was joined by one of her Valors. Don't think she brought something in.

7:35 am looks like Valor 2 is in the nest however, I am second guessing if it is Starr or Valor 1 first in the nest.

8:00 am so my decision is we have both Valors in the nest. They picked around and then the cam froze. Valor 2 flew during that time.

8:09 am and then both Valors fly after working in the nest. If I have miss-Id'd, please let me know. Valor 1 and Starr look so much alike to me this year.

Good Morning Sandy! I just wanted to add a few s'caps to the morning activity....when Valor 2 just came in the last time he brought a pretty good sized stick and did move that around to the front left rail.

9:46 am just popped back in to see Starr. Looks like she has brought food in so not sure if something happened before this. She just whines a bit and sitting in the same place. Just realized this is Valor 2 in his standfast watch over his food.

Thanks, Sue for the additional s'caps. That was one big stick.

10:17 am Valor 2 continues to stand guard and lays claim to his food. He takes a nibble and will trill a bit but hasn't moved. Must be something flying around we can't see.

10:24 am Valor 2 is still sitting in one place and looking around. Mostly seems intent on something off nest below. The wind is blowing her feathers on his head.

10:34 am Valor 2 attempts to eat between his watching his world.

I am going to have to leave. If anyone is watching, please post any observations. Our Trio eagles are getting a bit more active now, which is a good thing!

Sandy, I saw the same thing as you did with Starr & had to leave. I left my recorder going, but the screen froze up at 10:52. She was still looking out over her territory, guarded, & taking nibbles from her food, but appeared to be taking them more often.

11:09: When I came home, I found Valor 2 on the nest, with what I am guessing was Starr's leftovers.

Hi Sandy & Catspairadice! I was recording as well and it was split into multiple sections, but from what I could tell, only one eagle was on the nest from the beginning and I think that was Valor 2. I did not see anyone leave until the end at 11:11 am. Here are some s'caps that I grabbed, trying not to duplicate too much.
9:40 am - our eagle came in with what looked like a fish and I think it was still alive as halfway through the video before they even started eating it, they were moving around the nest and I could see the tail flapping.
1a.jpg
This is them getting all crazy with someone....I looked closely at the video and did not see anyone flying around so someone must have followed them in closely and was perched nearby.

10:46 am - here is a shot, one cropped, of the eagle that brought the food in, and I believe this is Valor 2.

Here's a video from when the Juvie came down to the nest and I think one of the Valors came in to scare them off but the Juvie stood their ground....and then Starr comes in and that was that. Sorry no sound.

:vid: Juvie on nest

I have to run, but will try to come back later to post some more s'caps.

Wow! Great video, Sue! I missed the fly in of the juvie & how he left. Looks to be about 3 years old to me. I have video of the juvie on the nest between 12:11 to 12:55. I'm guessing the juvie may be female, since it took Starr to run her off. The juvie was eating food scraps, working on some nestorations, feaking, & "standing guard" on the upper branch. I will post a video from either nighteagle007 or me later today. We are checking to see who has the most. I think she missed the fly in & the ending, also.

Hi Sandy! I'm not sure if this is a 3 year old....I know they had some white on their head and a little on the tail, but not sure it's enough to be a 3 year old...but I could be wrong....here's a s'cap from earlier showing their head feathers...I had to lighten it up a little so we can see a little better.

The Juvie was on the nest from 12:02 pm until 1:12 pm, so quite a long time. They spent 40 minutes or so on the nest, getting any leftovers that were there and moving some sticks around. At 12:48 pm they went up to the attic

1:11 pm - The Juvie must have seen one of the Trio coming because they came down onto the nest and seconds later the adult came in. I'm not sure who that was, it all happened so fast and they were gone, but I'm assuming one of the Valors.
