Mom and baby awake at 3:30 am local time. Both started preening.

I noticed that the eaglet's feathers are starting to show on h/her wings. They grow so fast.

Still quiet and uneventful. Good feedings, lots of sleeping and growing. It is still very green on this island. There is also lots of food. This nest is very messy. I think that there is a turtle shell somewhere on the nest.

Everything is good at the nest. Mom and Dad were both in this morning eating and feeding. The scenery is beautiful and the baby is fine.

Was closer to the edge before but then tried to find a place in Mom's shadow.

Banding today!

Been sitting still for some time. Banding is over. Cam was down. I will look for video of it.
Poor little guy is stunned. Sure h/she will be fine soon.

Chat says its a girl. Orange band!

Tucked in under Mom. So sweet.

I do wonder if they notice a difference in the nest after the cleaning.
It looks so nice, like now the chick can move around. Even tho she still likes being near the rails.

I read on IWS site that the team was not aware that the cam was not live during the banding. They stated that they will put together some gopro footage and put it up. The banding was done on the nest. So, it was probably done very quickly.
I will keep looking for more info.

Jwin, thanks for the link. I watched the video and it was amazing. Dr. Sharpe and Nate are so gentle and Saucette was a sweetheart. The last picture they took is beautiful.
