After a nice nap in the open bowl with the sun shinning over them, waking up and getting a very good feeding, it's time to be covered back up and get some mom love nap in. See you in a few hours little one's.

Afternoon feeding, itty-bitty is giving mom trouble to feed h/she due to keeping it's head down, maybe not to get bonked, but did see her land a few bites for the little one. Winds have picked back up.

Looks like Mom is back and she did have something in her talons, have not been able to see what it is just yet, and she is eating it now.

It has become very windy once again, the nest is swaying and the little one's are sleeping with the warmth of the evening sun and dad's (?) feathers.

Evening Sauces :bye 1:

rainna4 Thanks for all the lovely nest observations and beautiful captures. I was able to watch quite a bit today and it was simply wonderful to see the triplets well fed and then pass out from food comas

Here is a collage from the 1 pm feeding.

Debs, Impressive! so beautiful and thank you for your kind words but more importantly your collage of the feeding, how did you manage to get that beautiful star next to the eaglets in the large size picture? Oh my how precious is that!

Question: Do the eaglets get names? I think that they get tagged with a number later on, but in the mean time are names given at all for ease of identification?

Now I am a bit concerned tonight, the winds are very strong and I just captured some s'caps of the parents being blown around on the nest. Not to cause alarm but when mom was getting up, a big gust of wind hit and it seemed like she lost her balance and stepped on the eldest eaglet, h/she seems fine so maybe it was with a very light talon, but something to keep an eye on.
Feeding once again and dad brought in a fish, mom got up and took it, then blew yes blew over to the other side of the nest, appears to have dropped the fish and tore off a piece of the other large fish and decided to leave with a huge chuck full of fish in it's beak. I assume to find a lower tree to eat it on. Also as a foot note, there is a branch hitting some part of the camera, one can hear it banging when the wind picks up.

Blowing in the wind

Debs, is Mom the one with the discolored beak? Or is it just dirty and she needs a nice bath?

Rainna :bye 1: yes Mom has serious staining on her beak ... hopefully it is nothing serious.
The chicks will get names later ... after banding and the wing blings are applied this is generally done when the chicks are 6 weeks old. Dr. Sharpe will pull names from those that support the nest then the individuals that `win get to name the chicks.
The birds will hunker down on the nest protecting the chicks from the wind.

Thank you Debs for replying, I was so hoping I had been correctly identifying them, and the naming information is appreciated. SED till tomorrow.

Thank You Debs, it is curious about her beak, but does help me identify them quite easy.

When I first looked in, Pa was on the nest, looking very comfortable. Mom flew in with a bird, Pa left in protest and the little darlings began singing/screeching for food. Mom began feeding them. Itty-bitty is getting more and more food with each feeding. I predict a food coma is right around the corner. Something must be flying overhead as mom is sounding the alarm and went to cover her little-darlins up. Let the squishies begin as they all get comfortable under mom.
