Good morning Vicki, Marg, Stim, JudyB. Sharon, Stan, Karen and all that love these fine Hastings eagle fam.
The nest is holding up, even after the storm we had, I am so happy.
A little stretch.
Who do we have here, the local Hastings crow that lives right by the nest.
We see it all the time.
Eating some leftover food little one?

It's time for some serious workout.

It is nice having a brother/sister you can share your childhood with.
It is getting late. Ma should be home soon.

I love your pictures, especially the last one of the two siblings sitting close together.
Hi Karen
Here in East Vancouver on the early hours of Monday we had a big rain and strong winds that had me quite concerned about the new nest and the eaglets. Given the previous track record with this nest I took a walk over yesterday evening and all is good this time around as I reported to Annemie
Oh I saw Vicki yesterday who was also over checking on the nest and taking pictures. Hopefully she'll post some of hers down the road
Re: Hastings Street/PNE Nest, Vancouver - 2018
Yes, so glad the nest survived not only the storm, but is holding up to the antics this age of eaglet brings. Love your pictures Annemie. Thank you!
Re: Hastings Street/PNE Nest, Vancouver - 2018
The Hastings kids look happy.
They are both sitting on a nearby branch enjoying the view.
Both of the eaglet are now sharing the same branch, I like that.
Re: Hastings Street/PNE Nest, Vancouver - 2018
And the local crow is sitting on the street light again.
The parents were not around. The eaglets are big enough now and can be left alone for a while.
I have not heard them complain yet about not having enough food.
They always seem happy and content and sitting on branches that are very close to the nest.
Thank you Karen and Stim for your comments.
It is always good to hear them.

Re: Hastings Street/PNE Nest, Vancouver - 2018
Hi everyone
I forgot that I made these pictures on July the 1st and therefore I am late posting them but they say
better late than never.
Both eaglets can be seen branching on this picture.
One eaglet is somewhat behind the tree trunk, sitting on Ma's perch, but you can still see it. In the next picture Ma is home, the let's can both be seen, one lying in front of the tree trunk and one right under Ma.
It is advisable to enlarge this picture to see the eaglets more clearly.
In the next picture Ma flew away again and the let's are sitting once more on their fav. branches just like in the first picture.
It must feel grand sitting on Ma's branch. I did visit them a few times after I made these pictures and nothing had changed.
Yesterday however I only saw on chick.
I don't know if the other one was hiding or if it fledged however I will go by the nest again either tonight or tomorrow.

Hi Annemie, nice to see your photos. I saw both the eaglets in the tree with mom when I dropped by after work on July 6. Viewed from across Hastings Street. I will be posting photos soon.
Re: Hastings Street/PNE Nest, Vancouver - 2018
Hi, I named the eaglets Joey and Darla and mention them in my captions for dialogue but don't actually know what sex they are. Also I don't know ma from pa and guess when I add the captions. I have lots of photos to add, but see I can only add three at a time and notice that some of my file sizes are too large, so wish me luck. Happy viewing! -- Vicki
