From June 11 an evening pic so it's a bit silhouetted but maybe .... an eaglet trying some self feeding?

On June 13 I took a drive up Field Rd and saw Ma and Pa sitting together, a rare treat for me to see them sitting together so closely :D

On June 17, one eaglet sitting enjoying the sunset with a spot of preening and maybe some wingercising? :D

Thanks Sandra! I feel so very lucky to have them almost in my backyard :D

Let me know if you want to come again to try to see the eaglets when they're a bit bigger and hopefully more active.

Finally, some pics from my visit June 4!
I kept thinking I was seeing movement in the nest. Turns out Ma was in there with the kids and some obvious salmon.

Meanwhile Pa was perched near them.

And the salmon chunks are gone.

Thank you Heather I loved seeing your new nest.

First a few pics from June 18, first of an adult flying over mid afternoon. The second is a very shadowy early evening pic of an eaglet in the nest with a third of Ma and Pa on their favourite perch tree at around the same time.

And then from June 20, a lone adult perched in the same snag

And on June 22 one adult visiting the nest around 3pm

Also on June 22 another adult babysitting at around 8pm

On June 23, at around 10am I saw an eaglet that had obviously had a very good breakfast!
HWF_Field_20200623_1607.jpg
Than around 8pm an adult dropped off supper ....
HWF_Field_20200623_1683.jpg
... before moving off to a side branch for an easier exit from the tree...
HWF_Field_20200623_1702.jpg
.... then flying off to a nearby snag

At around noon on June 25 I saw one curious eaglet sitting at the edge of the nest having a good look around. I though s/he looked a lot like Big Bird from Sesame Street in the second pic :) Plus s/he seems to have a full crop in the last pic so seems to be quite well fed!

Around 5pm on June 26 it looked like an eaglet was self feeding! Sadly looks like some plastic on the edge of the nest but the pressure on the adults to find food for their eaglets is immense and they do whatever they have to do to feed the family.

Around 3pm on Jun 27, I saw more self feeding with an adult perched next to the nest while the eaglet fed itself
