Excellent Karen! I've been meaning to get up there and check out the trees in their immediate area as they often go back to nest after a year or 2 away. Like Larson did. Yay! :woohoo: :thumlft: :w00t:
Marg and Earl introduced us to this nest many years ago.
I like how this one is spread over a number of branches. Hopefully they are strong.

Looks like this is the new nest ! :woohoo:

Stopped by there for a quick visit yesterday morning and could see an adult in the nest looking out :-)

What a grand view for a change with this nest! It will deepen but let's take advantage of seeing the brooding while we can! I'm heading up there today after a haircut. It is so good to know the eagles are doing what they should be doing where we can see them!
Thank you Karen!

Another visit on May 1st saw one adult in the nest who at first was just looking out from the nest but then stood up and kept looking down into the nest as if there was something there. An eaglet or two maybe ? She/or he then moved further up onto the edge of the nest and continued to look down into the nest. Hopefully a good sign. Meanwhile the second adult was perched in the dead tree at the end of Sandpiper but took off to escort an immature eagle out of the area before returning to the perch tree. The nest is higher now as you thought it would be Sandra but hopefully we will still be able to see any youngsters as they grow.

Awesome photos! I got up there myself and then with Marg, but of course, no eagles seen, no eagles heard. I love your capture of Pa landing on that favourite perch tree of theirs. Nice one!
It does sound like there is eaglet care going on within the nest, that they are likely old enough to be left uncovered on a good day. :bye 1:

Great pictures Karen thanks for posting them. When we were there (stim and I) we didn't see any eagles. :( :bye 1:

Hopefully you will both see some activity at this nest soon, it's so hard to know when to go and if there will be an adult or youngster making an appearance. I stopped by quickly on May 19th and saw one adult perched in a tree close to the nest tree, soon after another adult came flying in and landed in the nest but didn't appear to be bringing any food. I didn't see any signs of any eaglets but the adult in the nest kept looking down into the nest, so possibly a youngster in there ?

Sounds like nesting activity to me Karen! :luck: Not hearing chicks is also a good sign. Not overly hungry.

After several visits to the nest and only seeing an adult either in the nest or perched close by, it was very exciting to finally see some eaglet activity yesterday (June 10). When I first arrived I could see an adult in the nest, who then flew off to perch on a branch close by. A few seconds later, movement in the nest and then wings flapping. Yay! And then he/she appeared, walking across the nest to where the adult had been, and maybe dropped off some food ? The pictures aren't great, the sun was very bright and even though the nest is quite visible from the road it is hard to photograph at times due to the angle of the sun. But! Great news that there is at least one eaglet in the nest :-)

Eaglet wings flapping in the nest, hard to see due to branches and bad lighting so have circled the area with red

Eaglet hunkered down more in the center of the nest, possibly eating as that's where the adult was originally

When I was up to visit this nest recently on a very overcast day I found Mom hunting from a tree beside the nest tree. She was watching something below but never flew down while I was there.

Visited here today but forgot may camera! Seems impossible but it happened, so eager to a see dear friend who wanted to see the nest. No eagles seen but just before leaving I heard peeping, juvie peeping coming from the nest! Could even have been 2. Not crying incessentantly thank goodness but sounding like asking for a food delivery. Good reassurance for sure. :woohoo:

Glad you had a good visit with your friend and were able to show her the nest, even if you did forget your camera :-) I was out and about yesterday so visited the nest too, at first I couldn't see anything as it was so dark in the nest area but then thought I could see white "speckling" just above the nest so upped the exposure (a lot) on the camera and took a few shots, zoomed in and saw that there was a youngster perched on a branch just above the nest quietly looking in towards the park.
