Mabel Rd/9th St nest on the Strait of Georgia, Sunshine Coast, Gibsons BC - Seasons 2020-2024

I checked on this nest again March 9. No changes, no sign of eagles in nor around the nest tree. I walked along the path to Mabel Rd, then back to Pilling and a bit beyond looking for a new nest or at least eagles perching. No eagle sightings nor sounds discovered.
All the property up to Gower Point Rd is private properties so I can't really get too deeply into the tree growth there.

Back to the nest site March 17. No sign of eagles in nor around the nest.

I visited this nest down Mabel Rd last month, could not see it due to fencing put up by homeowners down 9th St. I contacted Gord, one of the homeowners and he suggested I I try viewing it from Mabel Rd, which I did.
The mitigation nest David Hancock supervised the building of is not looking used, as of March 3 when I dropped by. One can see parts of the remade nest on building the structure, but can also see light right through and out the other side of the mitigation nest.
Sadly this nest was not used last year, doesn't look like it will be this year again. I have not found another nest nearby yet.

Thanks for the update Sandra ! I keep meaning to stop by here to check. Disappointing that the mitigation nest is still not being used. Did Gord say if there is still an adult pair in the area ?

Gord has just shared that there is lots of eagle activity in the area, just not in the mitigation platform. I guess we have a nest to find!

Gord has reported that there is eagle activity in this nest. Hopefully they remain and are productive!
