I visited the nest area with my birding partner on Mar. 16th. She had spotted another nest on West Saanich Rd. near the area of Tod Flats and we believe the eagles from the nest on Willis Pt. Rd. have built this nest. It is visible from the trail near the Red Barn Market. One of the eagles was perched atop a nearby tree.

Mar. 16th cont'd.

The eagle atop the nearby tree flew off a short while after we arrived and was joined by its partner, both flying off over the Tod Flats. They circled around the area and eventually landed on a snag way off in the distance.

This photo was taken from across the road from the orignal nest on Willis Pt. Rd. The snag on the far left of the photo is the same snag as in the previous photo, which was taken from West Saanich Rd.

Mar. 16th cont'd.

We were delighted to know that the eagles were still perched in the snag when we arrived at the nest on Willis Pt. Rd. It looks like they were right above us but they were a long ways up. Photos have been cropped.
