The same at the Kitchen Hall Rd. nest. From the closer view of the nest I couldn't see an eagle but from the far view around the corner could spot an adult sitting in the nest.
I'd seen a couple of heron's earlier but there was no place to pull over for pics until I saw this one.

The Ballam Rd. nest is again gone. Heading home I drove by Mr. & Mrs. D's place and both were outside. The last few times I've dropped by to say "hi" they've not been home so we had a nice visit. He's 93 now and slowing down a little but was still mowing his lawn with his ride on lawnmower.
1 more heron spotted on the way home.
No good eagle encounters but still an enjoyable time.

Hey Scott So happy you were able to go out hunting for the nests. Maybe you will find the replacement nests next time out. Hope your visit went well, with Mr and Mrs D.

Thank you Carolyn, Iona, & Naoma.
Mrs. D stayed tending to her garden, but I did have a nice long talk with Mr. D.
Another beautiful day so I checked several nests mostly on the southwest side of town.
An eagle was soaring near the Young-Cartmell Rd. nest but was gone before I could pull over. There was an eagle in the nest though. No eagles at the next 3 nests I checked.
Driving along the Vedder dike I spotted an eagle sitting above the nest but couldn't tell if one was in the nest or not.

Mt. Cheam from the dike.
The Royalwood and also S. Sumas-Prest eagle nests are gone and I couldn't spot any new nests in either area.
The Hopedale Rd. nest is still there but no eagles seen.
I had a nice long relaxing drive but miss having nests that I could watch closely as all I see now are a mile away.

I hope next season all the nest become active in your area again. This seemed to be a really tough year. There were a lot of failed nests

A little sunshine today so I decided to drive to Harrison Mills. I wasn't expecting to see many eagles yet and that was the case.
A few minutes into my drive I spotted a sub-adult eagle perched near the road so pulled over for a pic.
Not far from the first one this pair was also perched near the road.

When I arrived at Harrison Mills I could see about 50 eagles scattered on the sand bars far away, and a few perched in the trees along Sandpiper Golf Course.
This was the only one I managed to get an up close pic of. There was a photographer on the viewing platform and he said it had been there for 20 minutes and no other eagles in any areas he checked had given him a good photo op. It turned out to be the same for me at the others areas I checked.

I would have had a much better view of the others from a boat.
The day turned out exactly as I thought it would but it was still nice to get out and see a few eagles.

I don't check here unless I'm posting pics and that isn't very often now Bev but you're always welcome to post links or do what you will with any of my pics.
Sunny and cold but went out for a little drive today. Lots of eagles around in the few areas I checked.
The local landfill is always popular in winter so I started there first. A couple dozen eagles flying around and trying to steal food from one another was fun to watch but difficult to get pics of. Once they perched to take a break it was easier.
