Re: Vanier Park Eagles - Seasons 2018 - 2024
Maybe...
The behavior is different tonight. One of the adults was sitting up on the edge of the nest for at least 30 minutes that I was there. Finally it left the nest and flew circles around the nest chasing a crow that had come too close.
After the crow it took up a guard position in a tree 50 feet north of the nest. I couldn't see the other adult in the nest. So maybe they have hatched. Or maybe the other adult was sitting very low in the nest. Checked all the angles and couldn't see it through any of the gaps.
I'll try to get down there more frequently.

Could’ve sworn I heard baby crying today.

A little concerned tonight. I've been at the vanier site for 45 minutes. No sign of either adult. Nest is completely silent.
Re: Vanier Park Eagles - Seasons 2018 - 2024
i was there in the afternoon and i saw both adults flying around the wooded area.

Great news. Through the gaps in the bottom of the nest, I was able to watch an adult feeding the eaglet. Couldn't really see the eaglet but the parent was tearing something up and feeding it to the eaglet. I'll post some stills later.

1 adult sitting up on the north side of the nest for the 20 minutes I was here. The other was in the tree by the coast guard station. It was ignoring a crow that was dive bombing over and over.
