And then there were three.....
Has 054, our eldest fledgling, left on migration?
Image

Our three remaining fledglings are enjoying the sunshine at Manton Bay this morning.
Who will be the next to leave on the 4,000km journey to the west coast of Africa?

And then there was one.....
Our first fledgling 054 left a week ago and now two more of the youngsters 055 and 057 appear to be on their way leaving 056 in Manton Bay with Maya and 33.
When will they be on their way?

August 24:

It appears 056, our last remaining youngster has now left,
the image below was one of the last sightings of him yesterday.
How fantastic that all four are now on their way, strong, healthy birds, a great success
- incredible parents - an amazing season is drawing to an end!

August 27: Our four fledglings have 'flown the nest'.
But the parents remain.
Image
August 27: Maya and 33 are still here.
Maya brought in an enormous trout this morning.

August 31 - Our adult birds in the sunshine yesterday.
Today they've each caught and eaten trout, so vital to build themselves up now before they leave.
33 is still guarding his territory
