When I witnessed the event with the owl last night, it seemed like something (we know now it was the owl) hit the box full on, it shook so. Some of you who were able to view the replay in slow motion said it looked like both birds fell which would support that the owl impacted the box hard and may itself be injured. While I don’t like to see any wildlife injured, I’m just thinking that the owl may not be a threat to any of the other fledgling falcons on future nights. And owls are territorial so there may not be any others nearby.

I feel like we've all been riding a high with several awesome days in a row and today was a much gloomier day overall. Even if Alice is OK (I still have hope) it's hard seeing them less frequently, and not spending as much time together, even though it's bound to happen eventually. It's a comfort to watch with you all, and I wouldn't be able to keep coming back after all the heartache if it weren't for this chat community. Thankful for you all! Praying for brighter days ahead for our falcon family.

Last night, something flew up to nest cam in the dark and hit it and there was a lot of falcon crying for several minutes. Alice hasn't been seen since. Theories at first were a falcon hit their head on the cam. Then that there was a falcon sitting on the cam and an owl flew up and attacked. Something seemed to fall off to the left afterward.
