Delayed incubation of 29 shortened their hatch times apart by half.

July 22 2022
Rained off and on all day.
Mom was able to keep her chicks topped off with food. Dad even fed a few bites.
4:57pm Full crops just before their last feeding.
5:06pm Last feeding over. And yes they still managed to fit in some more food.

From EagleCAM:
September 1- at 1:35 today the nestlings are still waiting for a feed. It is the 85th day since the first egg was laid and 44 days since SE29's first feed. Up to yesterday they have had plenty of feeds:
Lady has fed 260 times and Dad 38.
Again he has brought more prey - 122 offerings to Lady's 30.
As the nestlings are growing so big, she is bringing in more prey to satisfy them.
Dad has brought 100 fish, including bream, whiting and leatherjacket and young gulls last week.
He has also brought 7 pigeons , eels, a rat and a grebe, the first we have recorded.
Lady has brought mainly fish.
Both nestlings are growing and developing well, with little aggression
. A great breeding season .

EagleCAM update.
·
September 14 2022– was the 58th day since SE29’s hatch and first feed. In that time Lady has fed the young 299 times and Dad 46 times. Again though he has brought most of the prey – 155 to her 46.
Yesterday Sept 13 both of the nestlings made their first proper self-feedings. Dad brought a small fish at 15:22 – grabbed and mantled by SE30. Eating took a while as the magpie was swooping. The fish was then taken by SE29, feeding for longer until all was gone.
Then later another fish was brought by Dad, stolen and self-fed by SE30 until Lady took over and fed herself and both. Previously both nestlings have eaten left-overs and at times mantled over their feeding. Another milestone reached.
