The nest has been built in a Eucalyptus fibrosa Broad-leaved Ironbark tree. The nest is at approximately 22-25 metres / 72-82 feet height up the tree and the tree is approximately 40 metres/131 feet total height. Nest dimensions are 1.8 x 1.4 x 1.1 metres (5.9 x 4.6 x 3.6 feet)

7th of June, 2021. Hello everyone, welcome to our 11th season of live streaming. General theme of this photo set is.....mating. Lady and Dad are nearly finished their annual nesting preparation. Courting is done, nest renovations done, with Dad now ramping up the fish gifts for his "Lady". Final phase includes lots of mating and bringing in fresh leaves to line the nest bowl. We expect to see the first egg for this season very soon. First egg is usually laid just after sunset. Second egg, 3 days later. They are spending most nights just above or near the nest. ------------------------------------------
The White-bellied Sea-Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster) is a fairly common sight along the coasts and inland rivers of Australia, as well as further afield. Even as our second largest raptor, little is known about their complete breeding cycle, from nest building to fledging. The huge nest of large sticks is commonly placed in a high tree and the nest may be used for many years in succession.
========================================
The Parramatta River Sea-Eagles are often seen during the day on their prominent mangrove perch, loafing or feeding on a mullet or other fish from the wetlands. They may also be seen soaring overhead on up-swept wings. The nest is placed high in an Iron Bark tree in the Newington Nature Reserve and has been used by a succession of Sea-Eagles over the years. Each year the nest has been monitored and valuable observations made.

2021 July 4
A brief report from EagleCAM on nest action 11 days after the second egg was laid .
As we previously noted, the eagles again showed delayed incubation of the first egg before the second was laid. Even on those cold June nights the egg was left uncovered for long periods. As the second lay approached, incubation time increased. With 2 eggs, full incubation started.
Now, 11 days after egg 2, , Lady alone covers both eggs at night , only standing briefly to roll the eggs, stretch and change position. Dad usually is standing watch, sleeping on the nest tree or nearby.

Both eagles are sharing daytime incubation and to date, the male has incubated for 54 hours and the female for longer – 68.5 hours. The eggs have only been left uncovered for just over 2.5 hours total, with very brief incubation breaks.

Dad is bringing in some prey though both eagles are probably catching their own prey and feeding elsewhere. He is still bringing in some leaves and the occasional stick.
Hatch is expected at the end of July after some 40 days.

:)
28th July 2021 - We can confirm that we have our first pip (small break in shell) of the season. Pip first seen at 8:54am. It's quite a gusty morning in Sydney, therefor difficult to get a good look at progress. Pip to hatch could take ~40 hours.
