Intro to the New Forum!
Intro to the New Forum!
Hi everyone - and Welcome!
First, a big thanks to David Hathaway for creating this new forum! (Note to self - we need more smilies!)
And a big thanks to all those who are helping to get it up and running!
For those coming from our soon-to-be-former forum, things are in different places here!
As far as I know, there's no way to get a chronological list of the most recent posts - but you can find New Posts under Quick Links in the upper left. Quick Links has a number of other useful features - there is a robust search feature, plus links to the Member list and to "The Team" list, which shows the members who have taken on additional duties.
The User Control Panel is in the dropdown list under your name in the upper right (next to the Private Messages link, which will have a number to show when you have 1 or more new PMs). The User Control Panel (UCP) is where you can add your location for others to see (under the Profile tab), change your time zone (Board Preferences tab), add a signature and avatar (back to the Profile tab and refer to the links on the left), and lots of other nifty stuff (more info here) - check it out!

Re: Intro to the New Forum!
Good Morning All! I just registered and was approved, now just trying out posting. Wasn't sure which forum to post my first one to but thought this was appropriate. Seems very easy to navigate. Thanks to everyone that has worked on this for all the time and effort you have put in. It really looks great!

Re: Intro to the New Forum!
Thanks Judy for accepting me.
I am having trouble with my avatar I get this message I used this avatar on the old forum but do not know how to reduce the size?:
The submitted avatar is 100 pixels wide and 66 pixels high. Avatars must be at least 20 pixels wide and 20 pixels high, but no larger than 90 pixels wide and 90 pixels high.
Current image:
Maximum dimensions; width: 90 pixels, height: 90 pixels, file size: 60.00 KiB.
Help please.

Re: Intro to the New Forum!
I trimmed a little bit from both sides of your avatar so it's now 90 pixels wide, and I added it to your profile - will that work for you?

Welcome everyone!
I'm not posting that much but if you see me online and you need help or questions answered I am just a post or PM away. I'm usually around most days (except Wednesdays) so.......
Enjoy exploring our new home to be! Try out some of the new tutorials and if they don't make sense let us know so we can try and make them clearer!
Cheers,
Sharon

Re: Intro to the New Forum!
Is it still the case that only Jpg can be posted and not PNG?

No! You can now post either jpg or png!Cheryldavis wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 12:25 amIs it still the case that only Jpg can be posted and not PNG?
Png files are larger - if you (or anyone) gets a message that the attachment is too large, please let me or one of the other admins know - and if possible, let us know how big the file is. We want to set the upper limit large enough for full-screen captures - but not so large that we overwhelm the server.
And welcome!

Hello everyone,
Tried out posting a couple of s'caps today on the practice thread. Love what y'all have accomplished and looking forward to trying posts out live! I am so sure I will have questions when I get into the day-to-day activities but all seems pretty intuitive to me right now.
Happy posting and thanks so much for all the work put into bringing us a new home to post and share all things eagles....Sandy
