WHITE ROCK BALD EAGLE CAM 2021-2022

This thread is for Discussion, Observations, Screenshots & Videos solely related to actions/events/ occurrences at the White Rock nest. When making your posts, please type the time first, then your observation of the activities. Although we tend to want to humanize our eagles, they are wild birds so please try to avoid the temptation to speak for them.

Posting Guidelines
Screenshots and photos and/or links to videos are welcome in this thread as part of the discussion. We welcome all screenshots and videos of the White Rock nest captured via the webcams. Screen captures are limited to three (3) per post and should be no more than 500 pixels wide. Please use the file tag (not the IMG tag) when attaching your captures. Also, make sure you save your captures in the JPEG format.

As a courtesy to viewers with slower internet connections, please limit the pictures in each post to no more than a total of 150,000 bytes. Please do not post animations (though it's fine to post a link to them). Please limit smilie/emoticons to three (3) per post. Also, some members have difficulty with moving smiley/emoticons so please limit those to one (1) per post (of the three (3). Please remember this thread is solely for observation/discussion regarding the events in and around the nest area.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Welcome To Season 2021-2022 :)

-----------------------

Notable Dates 2021-2022 Season:

Adults Return:Sept 29 2021 6:49am Mom first spotted as she lands on OT . Thank you amyklai for your keen eyes!

Nest Work: Nest work on the peace tree (PT). They both worked hard. Good looking nest by the time 1st egg was laid.

Egg(s) Laid: Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:40 pm. We have an Egg! Not visible via cams . We do not know if a 2nd egg was laid however Mom's actions indicated she delayed incubation for 3 1/2 days at which time a 2nd egg would usually be laid and then she went into full time incubation.

Pip Seen: We won't be able to see a pip this year with no view of bowl. Should be around april 26 27 ?

Egg(s) Hatched: April 29, 2022 – the adults were sitting higher in the nest this morning, suggesting that they may have a chick. And there was a feeding at 4:16 pm – and it looked as if there may be two chicks! There’s a video of the feeding on the forum if you’d like a peek – viewtopic.php?f=14&t=589&start=2850#p572033.

Eaglet(s) Named: Sierra and Tango, following the aviation alphabet used here.

June 14, 2022 – sad news – both eaglets died today, probably of avian flu; they were 46 days old, and had seemed fine until a day or so before, and even then, there wasn’t anything that obvious given the obstructed view of the nest. (viewtopic.php?f=14&t=589&start=3615#p588958)

First Branched: NA

Fledged: NA

Eaglet(s) Last Seen: NA

Adults Last Seen: Aug 1 both visited last years nest early morning.

Cam Maintenance: September 9, 2022 (link) - broken strap that had been holding the top part of the CU cam replaced; other straps on the CU and North cams checked, and some cleaning done to the domes of both, though there were some sticky spots that defied the cleaning cloths.

4:25pm She flew directly to nest.
4:26pm Moves the big stick .
4:27pm Moves to east branch.
4:28pm She flew up higher on the branch out of cam range. I tried to see when she flew off via WA cam but was unable to see due to fuzzy and artsy live feed .
