I just heard from Ken. He's not sure what's going on, but it looks as if all the White Rock cams will be down for a couple of days. He's having trouble connecting to the internet from the site, and and the router is acting up, so he's bringing some of the equipment back to his place for testing. He will get them up and running as soon as he can, but he does have some other commitments for the next few days, so there will be a delay.

12:34pm - North cam view, work in progress - then cam stream stopped
5:25pm - all WR cams still not streaming, and we know air conditions continue smoky, unhealthy, but hopefully will improve over the next few days

Good morning, everyone.

Ken has been to White Rock, and the good news is that the problem with the new CU cam seems to be in the cable from the base of the tree to the building where the computer stuff lives, so he will be able to replace it without going up the tree again. He's not sure he can get out there today, but will make that happen as soon as he can.

The WA and North cams are working and zoomers should be able to log in; we are still having issues with the embedded cams at several locations - we don't know if there's a setting on YouTube that got changed or what is happening. Ken and I have both taken a quick look, but neither of us have had time to go through all the settings to try to compare what's working (today only Delta) with what isn't working (Harrison Mills has had the most trouble maintaining a connection to YouTube).

Please do not reboot anything while Ken is working on this - he will be doing some updates and reboots at his end, and we don't want to bump into each other. Thanks!

And I have to run - have a good day and stay safe. Ken said there might be rain there today - keeping fingers crossed there is and it helps with the smoke (and with the fires if it stretches far enough south).

Ken is at White Rock continuing to work on the technical issues there - so the direct links to the cams may be down from time to time.

As to the ongoing issues with the embedded cams, I'm afraid only our Delta 2 cams are streaming consistently at this point - but I have been able to find a few things for Ken to try to resolve the issue (which we think is either a bug in the new version of the YouTube software - or perhaps a learning curve for a very different way of linking the stream from the cam with our YouTube page). Whichever it is, we are hoping to resolve it soon - and are very happy it's happening now, while there's not a lot happening at the nest.
