Good morning, everyone! I don't have details or confirmation yet, but if the weather holds, there's a chance Myles and Ken will be at White Rock today to try to get the Wide Angle cam working (and cleaned!) and hopefully get a cam functioning at the South/Bluff location. Stay tuned....

I just talked to Ken.

They are going to work on the South/Bluff cam first, and Myles is working on setting his ropes so he can go up. If Myles is able to climb the tree (it's a bit tricky - but he has been up it before), they have a new cam ready to install. It will have sound, but no night vision.

Ken has been there since noon, preparing the new cam and its wiring, and also working on the ground part of the WA cam - and he's determined that the problem with the WA cam is a cable on the ground, and he'll be able to come back and replace that with the help of the groundskeeper when there's a good day (digging trenches in the rain doesn't sound like fun to me!).

Update:

Change of plans - Myles line is caught in the nest tree and there's nothing he can do at this point; he's hoping to come back with a climber, but there's rainy weather coming, and we're running short on time.

Also, he can't clean the WA cam - the tree is too high for his ropes, and again he needs a climber to help with that.

And unfortunately our friendly climbers are very busy this time of year.

I just spoke to David Hancock, who stopped by the site a couple of minutes ago, and he wanted me to thank you all for being here and zooming - and hopefully they'll find a way to get the new cam up into the South tree before the eagles appear.

And thanks from me as well, and I'll let you know when/if I have additional information.

:D :woohoo: I would think this is one of our pair or the 5 year old that was hanging around in Aug after our pair left, as todays eagle checked out nest, usual west tree perch, FP lower branch, OT lower branch, and Pond.
3:45pm adult fies off nest tree. Only shadow seen on CU cam, seemed to come from north branch ( off screen)
flew to west tall tree.
3:56pm. Flew to lower branch of old nest tree.
4:00pm. Flew to pond perch branch.
4:01pm.Moved to pond.
4:02pm. flew to lower branch of FP tree.
