Three Videos recorded Nov 14, 2021 - Courtesy of Denise Foster: Chair, Save Estuary Land Society
Video #1: Bald eagle pair near nest
The pair were perched near their HWF nest (male higher, female below) when the male suddenly took off in pursuit of an adult eagle that appeared. The male chased the intruder out over the Salish Sea twice but the intruder was determined. On the intruder's 3rd pass the pair joined forces both giving chase. It appeared that did the trick and the intruder had left their territory and the pair could claim victory.

But . . .
Video #2: Adult eagle intruder
The intruder had actually perched low down on a nearby tree and out of the pair's sight. Luckily I was able to spot him and catch him on video - isn't he a handsome eagle!
Adult eagle intruder (:44)
Celebration invitation - maybe?
Video #3: Bald eagle pair invite
The pair flew to different tree closeby and perched together, seemingly unaware they were now closer to the intruder. When the female steps down and turns her back to her mate it looks like she may be offering a possible "couple's victory celebration." Perhaps that wasn't the case or her heroic male was all tuckered out!

10:40 pm Checked the DVR and found two short visits today. One at 10:51 am by one eagle by his/herself and another at 4:51 pm by a pair of eagles. Both visits entail some stick moving.
A lone eagle attempts to move a stick (1:29)
A pair of eagles move a stick together (1:14)

Re: French Creek Estuary Eagles, Vancouver Island - 2021-2022
Checked the DVR back to about 2:45 pm but didn't see any eagles. I have popped in off and on most evenings the past 4 or 5 days but haven't seen any activity. However, by the time I check the DVR I can only go back to early afternoon so it's possible there were earlier visits.
Here's a scap from the 16th
And here is one from tonight - the sticks have changed a bit so probably someone has come by!
