Thanks so much Judy ~ It is exciting to see an Eagle ..... I must be more careful when posting esp. when the cam was down and see if there is a difference in the nestJudyB wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 9:02 amGood morning, everyone, and thanks for posting the weather, Bev!
When I came into our computer room a few minutes ago, Charlie told me someone had brought a stick to the nest at French Creek - I checked the dvr and found this at 8:18 am. (These click much bigger.)

And I now think that wasn't the first visit of the season - when I first found the spot, I thought the adult had brought in the large branch they were moving in the first s'cap above - but that was already there.
Here is Bev's screenshot from 2:43 pm yesterday, September 25, just before the embedded cam went to a black screen:
And here's the one she posted at 6:48 pm, shortly after I restarted the stream:
I think the big branch in the lower right arrived while the cam was offline. I'm so glad you posted those two pictures, Bev - that gives us a good idea of when the stick (or should I say small tree ) arrived.

Here's a video of this morning's visit!
First visit caught on cam this season! (1:38)
And a comparative picture of maybe a visit from yesterday! Same idea as yours JudyB but I already had this done so might as well post it!

Thanks for doing the video, gemini, and for the screenshots to help us know who is who!
There was a second brief visit around 11:29 am. It was windy and rainy and the signal was breaking up a lot, and he or she spent much of the visit perched on the back of the nest so the head wasn't clearly visible - but I did get a couple of shots.
Landing with stick:
Best look I could get of the eye:
I need to look back at some of the pictures from this spring, but I think one of them had a more ragged neckline - and I though I was seeing that during this visit - but it was windy enough that I couldn't be sure. I'm thinking this may have been the other adult - but I couldn't see anything marginally conclusive.
Here's a composite - first visit on left, second on right.
And another one - it looks more like the same eagle in this one. Maybe.
Ah well - hopefully they will be visiting more soon, and we'll get them sorted out!

Someone is back - and I'm thinking it may be the same eagle each time.
I am logged in and zooming, and I'm getting a couple of videos direct from the cam - smaller in size, but much clearer than what we get after processing through YouTube.
1:25 pm
He or she just flew off. I am out of the cam. Arrival was about 1:14 pm.

A few pictures from the video before I process it.
One of the indicators that an eagle is female is that their beak is generally bigger, and the hinge goes all the way back to the back edge of the eye, while the beak of a male (generally) ends more near the middle of the eye. Based on that, I'd guess that this is a female.
But I'm always never sure until I see one of them lay an egg.

It looked as if there may be some dark feathers on the head, suggesting a younger eagle - but the tail looks white, so I'm thinking the color is more that of a damp eagle.
After a good shake.

Same eagle on a higher branch.
And off she(?) goes.
I tried to follow, but am not good at that. I did get a look at the waves.

Here are the videos for the 1:15 pm visit
Waiting for Mate? - part 1 (4 minutes, 30 seconds)
Waiting for Mate? - part 2 (3 minutes, 40 seconds)
I took the video directly from the camera, so they're a bit smaller than usual, but should be sharper than the signal that gets processed for the internet.

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for posting the weather and checking the dvr, Bev!
8:09 am
I did a bit of zooming this morning and didn't see anyone.
Here's the perch tree where we sometimes find eagles.
The water looks a bit rough, and I didn't see much activity - maybe one gull flying by, though not in the s'cap.
The sky and water - interesting colors and patterns (but no eagles, as far as I could tell).

I thought I saw some movement out of the corner of my eye, like an eagle moving off to the left - so I logged in - and found an eagle. I'm pretty sure this is the same one as yesterday - the eyes look similar, and there's still a bit of fluff visible on the right side.
I also got a few more closeups of the head.
And then she or maybe he flew off to the left.
