It's unusual, but not impossible, Christine. And it's fully possible that they have been taking turns visiting, just to tease us.Eastvan Girl wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 5:28 pmGreat photos Annemie - always wonderful.
I have also been wondering why after seeing the eaglet fledge that day I haven't seen it again. I was thinking if something happened we would have heard about it in the neighbourhood. The other day both an adult and the one eaglet were in the tree when another eagle flew by and I wasn't quick enough to catch if it had a white head or was possibly the other eaglet. Really wished I had been able to see. Is it unusual for an eaglet to fledge and be gone for good that same day, or is this out of the norm?

Thank You!
Hi everyone - and thank you so much for your support of the fund drive for Delta 2 cam maintenance!
We didn't quite make $5000 - but we received $4228 in donations, which has us well on our way for the needed cleaning of the Delta 2 cams.
And we were late starting the drive - and we are looking for a few people to help with fundraising (to be completely honest, I'm running out of energy and ideas) - so if you'd be interesting in helping out, please let Karen or me know (karen@hancockwildlife.org or judyb@hancockwildlife.org).
I will mention that you can donate at any time - https://hancockwildlife.org/donations/ - you don't have to wait for a fund drive. And for those who like reminders, we probably will do something else later this year.

We have 8 pre-adoptions for the 2019 nesting season - big thanks to:

And a really big thanks to all of you who contributed in other ways to get us really close to our goal - proving my theory that together we can move mountains (or at least clean cams!).
Thank you all

Good morning all.
Thank you EastvanGirl and JudyB. for your input.
Stan has been going to the nest often several times a day hoping to see the two eaglets but no luck.
Let's hope that all is well with both of them.
Blacky, an eaglet at Hastings did the same thing several years ago.
It fledged and never came back.

JudyB thanks for all you do and thanks to the people that donated and adopted a nest.

Nice cloudy day today - what a relief from the heat. Both adults were at the nest this morning, couldn't see any juniors.

Our remaining eaglet was high in the west side of the nest tree at 9.50 AM this morning folks....still sticking around
Seagulls were giving it a hard time.....so it will be from this point onwards.

Karen, Well the two eaglets from the new Vanier Park nest both fell to the ground while tempting a fledge from the nest that looks like it was pretty beat up.....both are at OWL recuperating until they can fly and fledge.........don't know what was in pa Vanier's mind when he decided to move his nest above the bicycle park as the trees are not strong like the first nest by the Coast Guard Station....these are Urban eagles they like lots of humans around and noise, this new nest not successful to close to the Burrard Bridge
Thanks Annemie for all the captures of the Lafarge's this is Lady's third season/ year with Pa first season too young second and third Houdini last year and Apollo and Artemis all fledging successfully

Eaglet came flying in from the direction of the water to the north at 9.50 AM this morning. Made a beautiful flight and landing near the top of the Pandora tree. Became very loud right away saying "where's my breakfast?"

Stop the illegal destruction of eagle nests
The Croydon Drive Bald Eagle Nest in Surrey, BC, Canada illegally destroyed last month, must be the last Bald Eagle nest tree ever again cut down in B.C. without adequate mitigation plans.

signed the petition for illegal cutting down of eagle nest trees and will watch the You tube video live at 5PM today

glad to see the other eaglet returned and come flying into ther nest as it must of been hungry missing for days

still hot and getting hotter so most of the eagles are hiding in the trees for shade or down by the water catching fish
