At 5:32 AM Louis delivered another fish...

At 05:19 on Friday 24th July the female Loch Arkaig osprey chick, Vera (JJ8) fledged the nest. It was a proud moment for all nest cam viewers as the middle chick took her first flight!

At 08.11 on Friday 24th July the youngest male Loch Arkaig osprey chick, Captain (JJ7) fledged the nest. Now the nest is empty as the whole family takes to the sky!

I'm fine carolyn...maybe a short osprey-summertime-blues being busy with Comet Neowise watching in my Berlin-neighbourhood last weeks, but wasn't successful without real binocular equipment or camera. Don't laugh, I tried in vain

Hello Beth & others: Sky at 11 PM wasn't so clear as last night,
because some clouds appeared below Big Dipper and covered up Comet Neowise.
I've asked a nice guy with a smartphone who made some pics to show them
and he had a photo from 23 Juli which he allowed me to post here:

It's obvious that my old eyes can't adapt in the night to hazy long distance objekts even with my glasses...
that's the price for getting older nearing the 70. A binocular 50x70 might have helped in those situations.
