Good afternoon, everyone. Surprisingly, it appears that the cam is up; not surprisingly, the nest is empty. At least I think the cam is up - I can see the grass waving in a gentle breeze.

I tried looking back on the dvr, but it appears that the images are from before the storm and leading up to the storm - this is the final image of Handel I saw, which is back just a little bit on the dvr:

After using the dvr, I've needed to reload the page to get to the current time - or what I think is the current time. I'll try to keep an eye to see if anyone stops by. It would be nice to see him and Oscar - but they are both amazingly strong and I just know that they are fine.

I thought I'd add the outages map for the Halifax area:
20190908_007.jpg
There are currently 4,731 outages in the province, affecting 293,782 customers; according to Google, Nova Scotia Power provides service to 500,000 customers - which may mean that 60% of the homes and businesses in Nova Scotia are currently without power. The symbols with the multi-colored edges mean that each symbol represents a number of outages; individual outages would be a single color, signifying the number of customers affected.

Here's the current weather - much better than yesterday!

For those of us in the US, 18C = 65F

I think this is Oscar arriving with a fish.

He stood there briefly, then took off to the right with the fish - making me think Handel is still around. Dvr is still not letting me look back to recent activity, so the one picture is all there is.

Thank you Judy....I have been following too, but the cam was not up, just a fixed picture so you are fortunate to have gotten to see Oscar. It's good to see the tree is fine as it was in the target zone. I also have followed about power outages and know that most homes are out according to the power folks. I agree that they are strong and capable and will be fine (the osprey). You are the best!

Thanks, carolyn! I'm pretty sure I'm seeing a still picture now, too - not seeing any grass move or any little bugs on the nest, which is how I was guessing "live" earlier. I'll continue to keep the cam up and refresh from time to time, just in case.
