I'm at the computer and can log into North if no one else is available - my reaction time is slower, but I'll try to zoom in if he gives us a look.

Logging in on North

And he was up and back down before I could bring the cam up, and there wasn't much to see - egg was positioned to hide much of the hatch progress. I'll stay logged in for a while - probably need to leave around 8:50 am.

Cam is moving, so I logged out. Time for lunch, so I'm glad someone else is available.

Added - 9 am
Is anyone logged in? I'll go back in if no one else is using the cam - adult is looking restless, as if he might stand up.

Brit was up to turn the egg at 10:29 am, and I got a couple of s'caps of the egg.

Hard to be sure, but it looks to me as if the cracked area is getting larger. It also looks as if the shell is cracking and coming off the membrane, which isn't something I remember noticing before. I do know that occasionally chicks seem to push their way out through the side of the shell, rather than pecking around the middle then pushing the two halves apart. It seems to be more work for the chick, and unfortunately isn't always successful, but this little one seems strong, so I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll be seeing the whole little chick later today.

Hi Judy, I can take the cams for awhile if you need a break. Just let me know. Thanks for zooming.

Thanks, Sandy - logging out now.

I'll be back in a minute to add s'caps from my recent peek at the chick.

The chick was very active, pushing away at the shell.
