10:33 am Rey looks very comical as he was straggling the stick to continue to stand up as he was pulling and pushing on the stick. Brit and Rey work around the nest trying to find the right place to put the stick.

10:35 am once the stick dance is finished, Rey flies and Brit remains in the nest.

Adult in, I think with food. I think this is Rey, though I'm not sure.

I think I hear calling, maybe Brit nearby.

I'm going to log into South briefly.

Sorry - got a phone call -

Brit was in the hidden upper perch doing some serious calling while Rey was eating, and eventually flew down - at which point he wisely took off and let her have what remained of the food.

11:27 am
She's finished her snack, adjusted a few things, and is standing on the nest.

Logging in on North as well - happy to log out if other zoomers want a turn.

Not every eagle shows the same signs of labor, but things I'm watching for include her feathers puffing up and bit and rippling a little, her closing her eyes briefly as if she is feeling a sharp pain, and eventually a bit of rocking back and forth. So far I haven't seen those - but she's spending a lot of time at the nest, so I think she's feeling something that tells her this is where she needs to be right now.

Brit had been standing still on the nest, then moved a stick a couple of minutes ago, looked around intently, and then flew off at 12:02 pm; I wasn't able to follow her, and didn't see her with a quick look around.

I am now off the cams and away from the computer for a few minutes.

3:03 pm
Adult just landed calling loudly, I think with food. I think this is male Rey.
20230322_011.jpg

Looking back quickly, I'm not seeing any visits since Brit left a little after noon.

Adult is standing on the nest, looking towards the South cam - wonder if Brit is out there somewhere.

3:25 pm
Rey has begun to work on the food; I haven't heard Brit call this time, so she may be full, or hasn't noticed there's food.

I'm going to be away from the computer but will check in when I can.

3:36 pm
Rey is continuing to work on the food, looking around from time to time.

Brit just arrived - she's on the left here, and promptly took over the food.
20230322_013.jpg

Rey may not have been happy about that - but quickly backed off. I think he flew up to the little perch briefly and then back down to work on the nest. He's on the right in the first picture, and on the left in the second one.

He did try to make a grab for a bit of the meal, but didn't get very far. He flew off at 3:42 pm.

It looks as if Brit has finished her meal and is cleaning her beak - and now doing a bit of digging in the nest cup area.

Checking it out.

Dinner time here - I'll be back in a while.
