I just checked the tide and it's high and falling, but won't be low until about 530pm.

This Eagle reminds me of the one that was in the tree the other day. Same spot, but it was Rey that was with the chicks at the time. Rey was extremely vocal, and Brit wasn't around either. The intruder eventually left.
I know that eagles' hearing isn't that much better than ours (unlike their vision, which is amazing) - and while they can call very loudly, as Brit has been doing, I don't have a sense for how far it really carries, especially in an urban environment with traffic noise and such.
Great point. I hope this handsome Eagle moves on, before Rey returns from hunting.

Trying to decide if I'm occasionally hearing a faint call that isn't Brit - hard to tell. And one of the chicks could be calling as well. The one who moved away from Brit seems to be watching something.

I could also be hearing the calls echoing off the buildings.

I would think that the other eagle would take off if he saw Rey coming, either to get out of the way, or to challenge him.

Unless the intruder is female, in which case I'd expect Rey to come to the nest and Brit to go after the intruder once Rey is there to protect the kids.

I think Rey is in the area now, as the intruder is vocalizing and looking upwards.

The intruder is in no hurry to leave, and seems pretty relaxed.

I can't tell these eagles apart, but based on Brit's reaction and another eagle off cameras vocalizations I would guess this is not Rey?

I would have to agree there. The Eagle is too far out of focus for the south cam. Jean and Sandy are really good at identifying markers on our pair and other Eagles. I need him closer to see his face.

I also was seeing similarities to Rey - and it's not impossible that some of what Brit is saying is "move your tail feathers and get some food for our chicks!"

Whoever it is, they were doing some calling. Brit is still calling, but it's sounding more like "bring food" than "danger" or "scram" - but it's so hard to tell.

Added -
I think I'm seeing a bit of white on the chest of the upper eagle, which is something I sometimes see on Rey - though I suspect most eagles have a bit of undercoating sticking out from time to time.

Food is definitely needed this morning, I have only seen a few scraps fed. This is all wasting precious hunting time!

I had the same thoughts about the vocals, Judy. She makes those sounds when Rey is about to land in the nest. I guess all we can do is hurry up and watch

I remember too that Rey was sporting a brood patch, which I do not see here. Mind you, the chicks have not been brooded lately due to their size. Even Brit's brood patch is filling in.

Rey also got much fuller thanks to having two chicks and frequent access to food.... :%:

This one looks much leaner than Rey

I do not hear Rey's vocals at all anywhere.
