Both adults calling again.

Logging in for a quick look.

3:03 pm
I couldn't see anyone flying in the distance. The one on the perch (SM?) is doing a bit of preening, so relaxed a bit though still aware of the surroundings. SF seems a bit more alert - but now she's preening as well.

The one on the nest is moving the big stick again.

3:10 pm
I am out of both cams.
Judy, the one on the perch was SM.......SF was in the nest.........I'd be confused too from looking at them this time. But I followed the rollback and can confirm this.

3:49pm........SM and SF did a bit more work on the nest.

SF has this one white feather hanging at the back collar.

SM has this notch in his back feather.
5.JPG
SM flew off........see his even edged dark feathers on the upper tail.

Thanks for confirming, Jean! There were times I was sure who was who - but by the time I took those pictures, I was no longer sure.

Being able to check the rollback makes a big difference. :D Above in my posts you will see some markers I am using.

3:53pm.......Finally SF left the nest too at 3:25pm. You can see some of her black feathers at the upper tail "dangle down" longer than the rest of them. This was a feature you had noted to me Judy, and it is a good one!

No one is on the nest at this time.....I'll try to get back here soon at sunset won't too long away now.

4:09pm.......IN on both cams. I think that visit was likely the sunset visit for this pair tonight, but I'll stick around for a bit in case they return.

4:27pm.....I am not seeing any movement in the distant evergreen where our pair has been perching lately. They might not be in there. They are not on the perching branch of the nest tree.

4:35pm...SM just popped into the nest for a brief moment. We can see that notched feather on his back.

4:36pm...We did not see SF but SM was watching for her I'm sure. He left quickly and headed to the distant evergreen.

4:37pm.......Into the branches he went and I could see him moving about. But all is still now.

They seem to like to go into this tree to the area that is just above or a bit over from that X shape of branches in this evergreen.
10.JPG
A good place to shelter for the night. It is getting colder.

4:47pm...Thought they were done for the night but SF showed up in the nest. She dug in the nest bowl but didn't stay long.

4:48pm.....SF is perching just under that X shape of branches. As far as I know SM is above to the right unless he moved. I cannot see him.
