Re: Surrey Reserve 2022-2023 Observation and Discussion
6 pm
I'm going to log in on South to see if anyone is in the night perch tree near the buildings.
Definitely one of them there - not seeing the other one, but hard to tell unless I can see white head or tail.
I am out of the cam - please feel free to move it back to the tree, or see if you can find the other adult higher up or whatever.
Have a good evening, everyone!

Re: Surrey Reserve 2022-2023 Observation and Discussion
Good morning SR friends. Thank you for starting our day here Nightowl.
Both our Eagles are perched nearby. One is up quite a bit higher than the other.
0630 - SF is making short calls. I heard her doing this yesterday morning while she was perched beside SM.

0654 - Both Eagles fly over to the nest, one after the other, from the night perch for their morning nest inspection.
SM was all over the nest tree this morning, trying out different perches, while SF hung out and watched him from the western perch. If I have the ID'S correct. I have based it on routine.

7:00 am in rollback, after some nest work with SM moving a stick around to the rail and some sweet beaking between them, SF hops out on the left perch. She is resting one foot.
“Eagles: When they walk, they stumble. They are not what one would call graceful. They were not designed to walk. They fly. And when they fly, oh, how they fly, so free, so graceful. They see from the sky what we never see.” – Unknown

7:05 am in rollback, SM moves up to the upper branch and then to the attic. He then flies over to an upper branch in the tree. SF is still on the left perch.

7:19 am in rollback, SM goes higher in the tree and out of sight. SF still on the left perch.

7:12 am in rollback, SF then flies. At 7:19 am could hear eagle vocals so SM maybe still in the very top of the tree.
