One is back up to the little perch, and the other is in the nest, looking around.

Not seeing the back, but this looks like SF's tail - and SM seems to be the one who likes the little perch, so that fits.

One on the nest is doing some serious digging in the grass that's been brought to what is probably going to be the nest cup area.

SM just went up the slanted branch out of sight - I'm logging into South to adjust the cam and maybe try for a couple of closeups.

It looks as if SM flew off -

I took a quick look at the perch area by the buildings where they sometimes spend the night and didn't see him there.

A few closeups of SF

She tried to move one of the sticks by the right/east perch.

Then went out onto it briefly.
20230117_011.jpg

Then she flew off - and as I pulled the cam back, I saw a second adult flying off from somewhere near the hidden upper perch.

The adult from the upper perch looked as if he(?) ran into a branch and dangled from it briefly - but I suspect he actually intentionally flew into it with feet extended in the hopes of breaking it off, but didn't quite succeed at that. It's not obvious, but the white spot in the red circle is an eagle.

And I don't multi-task well - so I'm going to jump ahead to both of them working on a branch.
20230117_014.jpg

And then jump ahead again - I suspect it's SF on the left/west perch (because she seems to favor that one) and SM who just returned to the nest, I think with another stick.

We don't often get to look at the feet of an eagle - and I love the way she has her toes crossed.

And a couple of closeups.

Amazing how different she looks when she stretches her neck to look around.
20230117_019.jpg

Another different angle.
20230117_020.jpg

One more.
20230117_021.jpg

And it just occurred to me that this would be a good opportunity to look at the under side of her tail - and I do think she's using more than one toe to grip with, but is almost certainly doing a one-legged stance while she hangs out on the branch.
20230117_022.jpg

And she flew off at 3:13 pm.

I did a quick look and didn't see her, and have now logged out of the cam.

I'm going to log into the South cam quickly to check the night perch by the buildings. I did a quick check of the dvr and didn't see any visits since my last post.

I think at least one of them is there - didn't see the other one, but not sure if I could with all the reflections.

I'll leave the cam there for now - other zoomers are welcome to move it back to the nest. I'll try to check in the morning - and may peek in if I'm up during the night.

Have a good evening, people and eagles! :offtobed:

12:14 am in rollback, looks like our eagle moved down lower on the night perch and out of sight.
2023-01-18_5-57-25.jpg
3:58 am logging into the south cam to check to see if they are still there or move the cam back to the nest. 4:02 am didn't see our eagle on the night perch. Logging off the cam after bringing it back to the nest.

4:46 am SF landed in the nest about 10 minutes ago. She poked at a stick and now standing. The wind is blowing a bit.

7:02 am in rollback, SF stood in the nest for a very long time. And then she flew with the wind picking her up and away.

11:50 am looks like it is SF who lands in the nest. Logging into the south cam. SF landed with some grass and left.

2:43 am in rollback, SM lands in the nest and vocalizing. SF joins him and vocalizes. Something or someone must be going bump in the night.
