6:29 am not sure if both are vocalizing but at least one of them is chatting.
“Eagles: When they walk, they stumble. They are not what one would call graceful. They were not designed to walk. They fly. And when they fly, oh, how they fly, so free, so graceful. They see from the sky what we never see.” – Unknown
Re: Surrey Reserve 2022-2023 Observation and Discussion
6:31 am SF flies first to the nest, followed by SM.

Re: Surrey Reserve 2022-2023 Observation and Discussion
6:36 am all is quiet now. SM hops out on the right perch and SF stays in the nest. Can see the two faded feathers on her back.

6:39 am SF carefully walks to the rail and moves a stick. It was like the stick was in her way as she wanted to hop out on the right perch with SM.

Re: Surrey Reserve 2022-2023 Observation and Discussion
Thanks, Sandy - busy day ahead so I won't be able to check the cams much - glad you can be here for a while.
Special Weather Statement
Issued at 04:35 Saturday 28 January 2023
A short cold spell is expected for the B.C. coast.
Arctic air will begin to invade B.C. coastal regions today, with a major shift in temperature from our mild January.
Temperatures will become close to 5 degrees below normal Saturday night through Monday.
Strong outflow winds are also expected through coastal valleys beginning this morning and easing on Sunday. Gusty winds combined with cold temperatures will give low wind chill that will make it feel colder.
Temperatures will gradually rise next week.
If outside, dress warmly in layers. Be prepared for cold temperatures and strong winds. Drive with care, especially along coastal routes exposed to outflow winds.
Colder in Surrey this morning than here in Maine - not something that happens too often. Stay warm, people and eagles.
As of 6:41 am, the embedded cams are 5 hours behind real time, and moving slow - not sure what causes the delay to build up in some step in the process by which the signal from the cam is transmitted over the internet to the computers in Ken's house, then converted to the format used for streaming, then sent to YouTube and probably processed again by their computers, and finally is made publicly available on our live cams page - but it is a thing that happens occasionally. It generally is an easy fix once Ken is able to reboot the streams, so hopefully will be back to normal soon.

Thanks, Judy for the report on weather and on the cams. Sounds like a burr day at Surrey. We are getting some unusual weather in Arkansas as well with below normal temps. Thanks, Judy and Ken, for getting the cams back in order.
