I am rolling back and noted that Rey has NOT been to the nest yet today. Brit has been calling for him

Thanks, CC - I was pretty sure it's not, because I'd expect him to be there beside her - but saw the dark around the eyes and the dark on the tail.

Please take the cams if you can - between my fuzzy eyes and all the cottonwood fluff I'm having a real hard time seeing anything.

Full screen of the intruder but not sharply in focus

This looks like an immature Eagle. The same one from a few days ago maybe.

Chicks are flat in the nest, as they should be when a parent is alarm calling.

Thanks for checking on that - that is a bit concerning, though it's possible that he's needing to go farther out to get food.

The amount of fluff from the cottonwood trees is amazing - almost like a summer blizzard!

The tail definitely looks dark, but hard to know if it's messy like Rey's has been recently - seeing a little darkness around the eyes so likely a young adult, but the rest of the head seems quite white - definitely hard to focus - these are cropped from full screen:

I just checked the tide and it's high and falling, but won't be low until about 530pm.

This Eagle reminds me of the one that was in the tree the other day. Same spot, but it was Rey that was with the chicks at the time. Rey was extremely vocal, and Brit wasn't around either. The intruder eventually left.

Chicks are up and moving around. Brit is still not happy and is expressing her displeasure but isn't really alarm calling as much - though I think she just started up again and the chicks went flat again.

Judy, I noticed too that she isn't sounding as alarmed. Even one of the chicks moved away from her. :dunno:

I know that eagles' hearing isn't that much better than ours (unlike their vision, which is amazing) - and while they can call very loudly, as Brit has been doing, I don't have a sense for how far it really carries, especially in an urban environment with traffic noise and such.

Great point. I hope this handsome Eagle moves on soon.
