0714 - As soon as I opened my laptop and Res landed with a nice leafy branch that she was quite busy deciding where to place it for the next 4 minutes or so before flying off.

I'll do a quick check of the DVR

Good evening SR friends. Just doing a quick roll back of the DVR.

18:53:04 - It took me a few takes to get this shot of BOTH Eagles arriving/landing at the same time!
Great picture, CC - and I love the sunrise shot!

7:55 am
I checked the dvr back to your post and didn't see any activity.

I checked the dvr and found a brief visit by Sur at 12:24 pm. He arrived silently, looked around a bit, shifted position slightly, looked around a bit more....

He did also move the bit of "fluff" (hay or straw) to the opposite side of the nest.

He flew off at 12:36 pm.

Moving the fluff.

Looking.

More looking.

He did look in other directions, but these pictures showed a bit more of his neckline, which is sometimes useful for ID purposes.

It's now 4:25 pm, and I didn't see any additional visits.

I was getting ready to say that I hadn't looked at the South cam, when I thought I saw a bump there.

Logging in quickly.

And see what I found!

I am out of the cam again.

Looking back quickly, someone was there while Sur was in the nest at 12:26 pm (you can sort of see the bump if you click larger - it helps if to have been staring at that branch for a couple of years. :) )

And Sur noticed and flew over to join her - not easy to see, but he's landing beside her. I heard a bit of calling right afterwards.

They were both there until 1:59 pm when the one on the outside flew off (Sur?). This is cropped from full screen.

As of 4:39 pm, the one I zoomed on is still there, and I think has been for the whole time.

1721 -Yuck what a day out there. Great catch on watchful Res Judy!

I'm going to log IN to the cams to try and see where our Eagles are hiding out from the weather.

Ok so it's too windy and rainy to see much. This weather should make for lots of new items for the nest later :)

I am OFF both cams.

1958 - Well it's dark, gloomy, windy and well past Eagle bedtime. I am not sure where they are hunkered down tonight (because I've looked!!) but I hope they are safe, dry and that we'll see them again tomorrow.

Good night! :bye 1:

I checked the dvr back to gemini's post and didn't see any eagle visits, though a squirrel did peek in a few minutes ago.

Looking back quickly with the north dvr, I don't see any earlier visits since gemini's post.

6:43 pm
Someone arrived on the nest as I was coming to do a quick check of the cams.
20211013_007.jpg

I think this is Res - hard to get a clear picture, but it looked like her feather sticking up on the top of the head, and I didn't see any black on the upper tail.
20211013_008.jpg

She moved the fluff around a bit - I don't think she brought any with her. And she left at 6:45 pm.

Looking back at the dvr, there was a bit of coming and going from the visit around 3:15 pm and they were both gone by 4:30 - so a fairly long visit.

I didn't see any visits between 4:30 and the quick in and out that just happened.

Good night, everyone!
