Good morning, everyone - and :bye 1: nightowl!
20220615_001.jpg

8:30 am
Nest is empty - off to check the dvr.

Checked the north cam back to 8:30 yesterday evening, and no one came to the nest.

From the south cam dvr - both adults were perched by the buildings at 8:30 pm yesterday.

Both were still there this morning, and I'm reasonably certain they were there all night, though it was a bit hard to see them once it was fully dark.

They flew off at 5:07 am, the one on top first, the other one a moment later.

I'll be near the computer for a while, so will pull the south cam back for a wider view (and also check the perch by the buildings).

11:45 am
I checked the dvr back to my previous post, and didn't see any activity.

I'm going to log into South quickly to check the leafy perch near the buildings.

12:26 pm
I looked around with both cams - looks like a lovely day, and I saw a bird or two flying in the distance, but didn't see anything I could confirm as an eagle.

I am out of both cams.

3:03 pm
Quick check of the dvr and didn't see any visits. I zoomed the South cam in a bit closer in case someone comes to the nest.

6:00 pm
Quick check of dvr - only visit I noticed was a black squirrel.

Good night, everyone!

2138 - No Eagles seen at the nest since Judy's last update.

I hope our pair is healthy and safe wherever they are tonight.

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for starting our day here, nightowl!

Checking the dvr -

A very quick visit at 21:42 - maybe NF? The eagle checked out the bit of bird carcass on the nest, then flew off.

Continuing from the dvr....

There was a second quick visit a minute or so later -
20220616_004.jpg

It looks as if the that adult went up to the little perch, but the South cam stopped working overnight and doesn't go back that far.

The next visit I found was at 4:54 am this morning. I think the first one in arrived with a leafy stick, then tried moving the bird carcass, then looked around for a while. The second one arrived at 4:57 am and immediately placed a stick - not sure if he brought it; it wasn't the one the first eagle brought. Now that I can see both, I think NF was there first and then NM arrived. The second eagle is nearer the top in both s'caps below.

NM flew off at 5 am; NF did a bit of standing and looking (S&L) and flew off at 5:03 am.

It's now 8:54 am, and I didn't see any additional visits.

2:42 pm
I just checked the north cam dvr back to my previous post and didn't see any visits, though I could have missed a quick in-and-out.

Then I heard an eagle calling, so I logged into the South cam to check the perch near the buildings - and there is at least one adult there!
20220616_007.jpg

I think it was only one adult - and there were some very persistent crows diving at the eagle.

This one is in the upper left - should be visible even without a red circle.

They were coming from all directions - I suspect that the eagle had food, and wouldn't be surprised if it had been taken from a crow.
20220616_010.jpg

The eagle flew off right after the s'cap above, at 2:45 pm.

Not obvious, but right after the adult flew off, a crow came in and landed on the branch, and spent a bit of time sort of pecking at it - making me think the eagle may have had food, and the crow was hoping to find a bit of it, though I don't think there was anything there - not sure if the eagle took it, or had already eaten it, since I never saw the food item so have no idea what it might have been.

Have a good evening, everyone!

8: 53 am
The South embedded cam is frozen - I've sent a message to Ken, who hopefully will be able to restart the stream soon.

There have been several visits this morning - need to get my steps and have lunch, then will be back to report.

From the dvr....

I did not see any late night visits - I checked when I made my previous post, so would have been able to go back to about 9 pm.

One adult arrived at the nest at 4:45 am, the other arrived at 4:47 pm; I think it's the male who was here first.

NF decided it was time to move the bird carcass out of the way.
20220617_003.jpg

They also rearranged some sticks.
20220617_004.jpg

I think the angle makes the difference appear a bit more than it is - but NF on the right is definitely bigger!
20220617_005.jpg

One of them (NM?) went out to the east perch at 4:51 am; the other one did some calling at 4:54, and then at 4:56, she(?) went out to the perch on the right (west perch) which they don't use as often.

The south cam was stuck around 2 am, so I couldn't check that to see what happened next.

(sorry this is taking so long to post - also catching up on a lot of stuff :%: )

11:49 am
continuing from the dvr...

The pair was back just after the cam switched to color, with NM arriving first at 5:04 am. Then NF arrived with a stick, and he was so eager to place it he almost tipped her over!
20220617_006.jpg

(There will be a video of all the close encounters with sticks this morning! :mihihi: )

I'm noticing two light areas on the back of the New Male, probably where he has new feathers coming in - not sure how long that will be useful as an ID, but thought I'd mention it. The female at Harrison Mills had something similar last month, and it was very useful to confirm it was her on the nest.

Another ID pic of NM (on right) showing his eye and the light areas - though this also shows that NF has some light spots, so it may not be as useful as I'd hoped.
20220617_007.jpg

NM flew off at 5:06, while NF continued working on the nest.

Continuing....

He came back at 5:09 with another huge stick (you really should watch the video - they are hilarious!).
20220617_009.jpg

NM flew off at 5:11; NF did a bit more puttering about on the nest, and flew off at 5:15 am.

It's now 12:15 pm, and while I love to watch them, fortunately for my desire to get a few other things done, I didn't see any additional visits so far today.

Video combining clips from this morning's visits coming soon.

Added -

Just did a very quick check of the North cam dvr and didn't see anyone come to the nest.

Not really expecting anyone until later, but if anyone else checks in, please feel free to double check.
