From the rollback - Sorry all, this has to be a very quick one this morning.

0453 - One of our Eagles arrived on the nest. They did some poking around, digging in the nest bowl, moving a stick or two, some preening, and then a nest bowl fitting.

At 0458 I could hear another Eagle chittering off the nest

At 0501 - more chittering by the mate most likely.

cont...

0519 - S/he got up and tugged on a stick on the "rail" before seemingly pushing it back - perhaps reinforcement?

Then they flew.

I have to run and most likely won't be back until sundown or just before. Please comment if you see anything!

Good evening SR friends and to the one SR Eagle we have in view. Boy, it must be molting time, I've watched this Eagle drop at least two feathers in the last 9 minutes and they even had a cowlick on their head plumage until they preened it away

I'm not sure when they got there so I'll check back in a few minutes, but I'll keep the cam wherever our Eagles are tonight. I know it's getting close to flight time as they head off for migration for the next month or so, and we want to see them any chance we can. I cannot stay long tonight but I'll make a better report in the morning for anything I miss.

They seemed to be tracking something at 2104 before moving up to the high night perch.

2104 - Here is a shot of the top of that tail just before they hopped up higher. I cannot tell who it is, I'd only be guessing.

2137 - Our perched Eagle started vocalizing which I think was actually a greeting to their mate arriving somewhere nearby. Just a guess of course. I took a look around but could only see our perched Eagle and it's quite dark right now. I'll leave the South Cam on our beautiful Eagle for the night and the north cam on the nest.

Good night people and Eagles 🦅🦅

Our Eagle was in the nest from 0504 - 0512

I strongly feel like this is our handsome SM - mostly because of the shorter and whiter tail. He poked around, stared down at the nest (bugs?), and re-positioned a stick or two along the eastern rail.

No SF to the nest. Did she leave for migration?

4:36 pm There were two visits to the nest about a minute apart. At first I thought they might be the same eagle but after looking closely at the feathers on their backs and just a general feeling of body shape being different. I now think it may have been two different eagles.

:vid: Two visits to the nest - same eagle or not?

After another look, maybe it is the same eagle!

6:20 pm and no change - one still in perch tree

It's now raining in North Van, yeah! - Surrey should be getting it soon - the front is coming from the north

Added: I did check back to CC's last post

Thanks gemini! One of our Eagles was perched for a lot of the day on the night-time perch. Here is a scap around the same time of your video. I wonder if they left and then returned or if the SF is still around?

The third scap is from later on. Sorry, I got quite busy yesterday and couldn't get back.

ADDED: I think your video was the SF and the SM was perched?

0721 - Good morning SR friends, and thanks Nightowl! Like gemini mentioned RAIN is in the forecast. It's raining in most places of the Fraser Valley and the GVA (Greater Vancouver Area) and boy do we need it.

We have a beautiful Eagle perched on the night-time perch. I've zoomed in on her? for now.

I'm going to check the DVR for morning visits. I'd love to know if they are both still around.

From the North Cam - I did not see either Eagle visit the nest this morning :(

Well, then I went to check to South Cam and saw we had an Eagle there all along and they are still there now at 0747.

0540 - Our Eagle came in to view from a little further down the nighttime perch behind those lush cottonwood leaves.
